  1. Finally got around to playing this game and all I can say is thank God I got it on a Steam special and didn't pay big $$ for it. It taxes even the most recent systems and graphics cards and I won't even mention the horrendous video lag even with VSync enabled... (anyone who has a pre-2010 computer, don't bother with this unless you like to run it in super low res mode and have graphics like BFV...). Not only that, but there's no console so there's no way of getting PB GUID and hence, no way of reporting cheaters. Can't vote off cheaters either. EA and Dice screwed the pooch on this one for sure. BF3 isn't looking promising given what they've done to this game....

    I'll let you off posting in a thread thats 7 months old because you just got the game :P but its not going to prevent me relating my experience with BFBC2.

    The game plays great for me on the whole, I have everything cranked to the max and have no problems at all.

    The one thing needed to play this game with any degree of consistency is a quad core cpu.

    The PBGUID is based on a combination of cd key and EA account, so as long as you get the ingame alias correct its a simple matter for the server admin to find a players PBGUID.

    For PBBans server admins, they can use the MPi or Hub Live(if the player is ingame)to check things out.

    You can report a player direct to EA for abusing the score / ranking system here;

    http://support.ea.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/65

    Various issues have cropped up with this game here and there, the latest is PnkbstrB.exe taking 30 - 40% cpu usage resulting in a big fps drop.

    The game itself took about a year to get the hang of (still learning btw) and that in itself is worth the price.

    BFV was a nice addon for

  2. Without going in to too much detail, the PBBans streaming requirements were put in place mainly to address security issues.

    We took advice from Tony Ray himself and then added a bit extra.

    Every group has to meet the requirements that are in place, for the use, and continued use, of PBBans services, there are no exceptions.

    The requirements ensure that longevity, integrity and zero tolerance toward cheaters, are present in all the groups that use PBBans as a streaming partner.

    Any streaming service that only requires you to register on a forum and then you can stream a server, has at the very least, a corrupt banlist, and probably a lot more.

    To answer your question, we would not ok a team account application if the website had 1or2 members on the roster, a very low or zero post count, no server information on the website etc etc.

    There is a community application you could make, but again it has to conform to the requirements for community applications contained here:

    http://www.pbbans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=82423

    The other alternative is to use a less secure streaming service than PBBans (which is anyone else)

  3. The BF series of games has always thrown up cheat accusations based on scores or stats.

    The main reason for this is no ingame demo facility, and with BFBC2, no pbss facility for most.

    One of our core ethics is a player is always given the benefit of the doubt when there is no concrete evidence to support claims of cheat use.

    For BFBC2 the evidence must be either an MD5 scan detection, a pbss detection or a full blown EB detection.

    When we come across posts that contain player details that the general public have no access to, those details are moderated as a matter of course.

    Your scenario is not a rare one and all we ask is that admins display a modicum of patience when dealing with sus players before getting the pitchforks out of the closet :)

    Example:

    http://www.pbbans.com/forums/server-streaming-and-no-problem-for-the-cheater-t141639.html

  4. I can appreciate that you have a new website up and running, but on the flip side there are still the mandatory streaming requirements that apply to everyone for the use, and continued use, of PBBans services.

    I see a forum with just 2 posts and no viewable server information on the site.

    Add to the mix that your website was experiencing issues as recently as yesterday, and thats why your waiting longer than normal for a simple reactivation request to be reponded to.

    Your team account is now reactivated, but I would expect a few signs of longevity to be present if an audit is carried out on your team account details some time in the future, and at least viewable server information to be posted on your homepage pretty soon.

  5. Hy there

    We have changed te location of our server from frankfurt to holland . we have a new ip:195.122.135.149:19567 / on pbbans the server ip is correct / but the server is INACTIVE for streaming . OUR team is draculas transilvanian vampires ( DTV )

    PLS help - we are beginers

    thank you very much

    All none streaming issues are client side.

    The correct server address has been added to your team account, once you get the streaming initiation commands correct, the server will stream instantly.

    Try;

    or

  6. The player had his account hacked and should be unbanned.

    Everyone in Brazil knows spam and you know he is not cheater

    That maybe, but if the ban was lifted on his pbguid that would mean that the person who stole his game cd key would be free to roam around cheating again.

    That is not going to happen, we will never lift a valid ban from our systems.

    The problem is compounded by the fact that the IP's attached to the ban are all from Brazil and are truly dynamic, they seem to issue a new IP every day :blink:

    If EA's lax security is the reason that players game cd keys are being compromised, the onus is on them to provide all those affected with a new game cd key and at the same time, tighten up their procedures.

  7. No probs but it still doesn't work after 60 seconds so I assume that it should say 60 mins perhaps?

    Not my field of expertise :) but it was either enable the flood protection and keep the banlists available to the public, or make the banlists only available to admins with private forum access.

    Our intention is to keep them available for all and this is the only way to do it.

  8. hey, im slightly confused, is there a section on the PBBans website for me to submit a demo of a suspect hacker? If there is, I can't find one. There seems only to be one to submit PBSS's.

    I'm an admin of the server and i took the demo while it was streaming to PBBans. I have a text copy of the suspect hacker's Alias and 32 figure GUID

    What can I do with this?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Not very wise to resurrect a 2 year old thread when the answer is staring at you from the forum menu :P

    http://www.pbbans.com/forums/demo-submissions-amp%3B-discussions-f513.html

    The only problem is that due to the ease of spoofing players that is specific to ET, we do not accept demo's for this game any longer.

  9. Here is my standard copy/paste response to queries of this nature.

    Any bannable violation that is raised directly by PB software, as per this list;

    #50000s - Aimbot
    #60000s - Wallhack
    #70000s - Multihack
    #80000s - Gamehack
    #90000s - 'Cheat' Video Drivers
    #100000s - Speedhack
    #110000s - Autofire
    #120000s - Game Hook
    #130000s - Attempted PunkBuster Hack

    is added automatically to the PBBans MBI.

    It should be remembered that EB normally apply a 2 minute kick for the above violations and its the proactive admin or 3rd party anti cheat service that apply the actual ban.

    EvenBalance always have the last word when a cheat violation is raised directly by their own software, but as the actual ban is issued by PBBans.com its best practice to include us in the appeal procedure.

    The player can do this by clicking the "appeal this ban" tab and following the simple instructions provided.

    This will include raising a troubleticket directly with EvenBalance and that should include as much information as possible as to why the player thinks this is a "false positive".

    It's always a good idea to list all processes that were running at the time the violation was raised (antivirus / chat programmes etc etc )

    The key word with any troubleticket query is patience, EB get a hell of a lot of queries and response time is dependent on how busy they are.

    Normal response time is 48 - 72 hours.

    In short:

    If a player is claiming that their raised violation is not valid, they always have the right to open a troubleticket with evenbalance to plead their case.

  10. Just a quick side question, when EvenBalance drops support for a game does that mean there will be no more PunkBuster enabled servers or just PunkBuster will no longer be updating from said point onwards?

    PunkBuster will no longer be updating from said point onwards.

  11. Ouch!

    Wonder whats at the root of it?

    Saturated fps market, or consumer base remembering issues w/ FFOW?

    Butt

    My eldest son has this game and he refuses point blank to play any mp untill something constructive is done about the cheaters that are rampant throughout.

    He says that every server he joined over a 1 week period had at least 1 very blatant cheater in it (he is a seasoned online player and server administrator so rule out whine :P )

    I told him about the recent develpoements re cheaters in homefront and his verdict was, reporting cheaters to a third party site so they could pass the info on just does not cut it.

    Looking at the figures of how many are playing this online, cheaters already have a limited/constrictive playing field, so the chances of bumping into them online are very high.

    As my son found out :shock:

  12. Your team account currently looks like thsi;

    ***************************************************************
    Team: BUTTKICKERS ([-BK-])
    Account ID: 9294
    Streaming Status: Not Streaming (0 / 2)
    ***************************************************************

    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    Server List
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    BFBC2 - 85.236.101.18:20062
    BFBC2 - 85.236.102.2:20667

    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    User List
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    Cell666 (152134)
    Mango (152166)

    There are 2 ports associated with the BF series of gameservers;

    1. rcon/query port that is used to send PB commands etc to the server (in your case its 20062)

    2. The actual join/game port which is what you use when adding a server to your team account (in your case its 19967)

    So you use the rcon/query port to set things up.

    Then you use the actual join/game port to add the server to your team account.

    I have added 85.236.101.18:19967 and deleted the 2 incorrect server addresses.

    Your team account now shows;

    ***************************************************************
    Team: BUTTKICKERS ([-BK-])
    Account ID: 9294
    Streaming Status: Streaming (1 / 1)
    ***************************************************************

    Streaming nicely.

  14. Hmmm.

    When is a roster not a roster ?

    When the members show 3 pages of registered forum users.

    A roster can be something as simple as a pinned forum topic that lists all players that represent your clan by wearing your clantags.

    The forum is still reg users only.

    The forum, or part of it, should be viewable without registration.

  15. Thank you. That makes total sense, because once I opened a support ticket from Even Balance and they helped me with the manual "x9392" registry fix. So, what do I need to do to get the ban cleared from my record so that I may play on servers that use player information from PBBans?

    If you have resolved your initial issue, that means your proper cd key has been accepted and that will in turn generate a clean pbguid that is not on our MBi :)

  16. Thank you very much for a fast and enlightening answer. Although I can't see the reason for having a website and forum to start streaming

    Having your own website and active forums with full participation from group members are definitive signs of longevity for any group wishing to stream via PBBans.

    These 2 requirements are just a very small part of what we look for when validating streaming applicants.

    You would not believe the amount of applications we reject for having a hastily thrown together website and forums with no activity present :)

    For every one we accept I would say 10+ are denied either temporarily or permanently.

    I don't think any of us want to run a website and forums so I guess we'll be fine without the streaming :)

    That should read "fine without PBBans streaming" :P

    That is entirely your choice but there are other options for groups like yours if you want to stream a server.

    You would probably have to compromise on security, and you would probably have a "less than obvious" corrupt banlist (if you choose to run it)

    Theres a list of third party anti cheat sites here;

    http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=links.php

    Theres also this lot;
