i always have to smile when i see a pbss submission with reason "visual cheat" (as if anybody expected to see an audible cheat?) what provides some information about the submitter's origin but plain nothing on the submission. So much for mixing up a matter of taste with Ethics ... or Synesthesia? Now you could continue your philosophic approach on the grade of helpfulness of pleonasms vs. approaches that try to use certain guidelines for the one purpose: to figure things out as clearly as possible.

out of interest, how old and what model? Just for my built-in-operational-life-span collection. i had the same after replacing gfxcard (ty evga for rmaing your consumer trash v.2.1), boot into black with a new card ... obvious was windows (xp_32 as well w7_64) was messing up the pci(e) registers. So i tried to reset them by changing all pci-e port settings in bios from Auto to OFF, boot and to manual ON in several steps, boot again then back to Auto subsequently. This fixed xp, no joy still with w7. Fix was increasing some bios setting "Low memory Gap" (default 1536M - xp_32 can address 3GB RAM only with 1024M); this is some obscure memory range voodoo © intel (page 10 ff), roughly: setting has to be > gfx-memory x 1.5 for whatever reason. w7_64 handles higher settings seamlessly, win_32 will 'find' less RAM

well, that* was my point to recommend : A. pb_sv_cvar com_maxfps OUT 0.000001 43 plus B. pb_sv_cvar com_maxfps OUT 151 1000 rather than C. pb_sv_cvar com_maxfps IN 43 150 for two reasons: 1.) C. does not equal A. + B. go figure why i mentioned the old and forgotten no-recoil exploit @43 FPS, IN 43 150 will allow both values 150 and 43 , while A. disallows 43 , so the (almost) proper equivalent was: IN 44 150 :P 2.) (almost) ...*some games have no default setting for com_maxfps (WTF is SoF?) and PB will handle an empty cvar value like the particular cvar was set to 0. So restricting pb_sv_cvar com_maxfps IN 44 150 would kick for com_maxfps 0 as well for com_maxfps "" ( = if nothing is set by user and if the game uses uncapped com_maxfps = "" as default), thus A. reads OUT 0.000001 43 and not OUT 0 43

Well, basically you prove somebody is cheating by providing evidence, not the other way round. Re your cod4 guid there is no evidence for cheating at all. Best weapon to fight lame accusations is ignore.

though this is going off topic abit: pb scans the clients' memory for certain cheat related patterns, thus pb can find said patterns as well if the hack is not currently used ingame. We have seen bans for submitting cheats even, what goes like this: Honest player/admin sends an email attachment to EvenBalance, his email-antivirus scans (i.e. unpacks the zip/rar and loads it into memory) the attachment. Honest player/admin joins a pb enabled server and receives a violation triggered by the hack he just submitted. He was able to prove the time sequence plus EB confirmed the case, so his ban was lifted. Countermeasure: Reboot

Now this must be about something like worshiping the golden gym bag, right? After a rough overview (soz i still cant be arsed to squeeze any sense or facts of my interest out of this, FC and crysis always used to be gfx-demos, no fps), i might help you out with a slight hint here: Eventually you get the point when you once realize you are talking to yourself; at the current state there is little hope though.
