You applied for another streaming account on behalf of a player that was banned here. From the evidence I have in front of me, I can say that your account will not be re-activated.

Server just times out for me in HLSW.

I'm donating out of my weekly food budget (poor student etc) - never again do I want to see a 404 error when I try to go on the forums.

The downtime caused me great discomfort and a number of problems. I had to go outside and socialise! Can you imagine the horror?!

I don't think the toolbar has been added to the firefox addons repository - so automatic updates are not possible. New versions will always be added to the downloads section though.

Nothing has changed since your behaviour last time around - and a few nice words isn't going to change anything now. I thought a post like this may appear. The decision is not up for discussion - it does appear your manners and attitude have not changed since our original problems, so I think I was right in my decision to deny your application. Knee jerk reactions and name calling have no place here whatsoever. I have no intention of discussing anything with someone who believes that calling me a child is the right way to get what he wants. Account processing SOP is that denied applications are locked to keep the applications section tidy. You are welcome of course, to open a thread like this to discuss your application in more detail. Doing it this way just keeps the applications in the applications section and the discussions in the discussion section :) SOP is also to deny any application where the applicants IP matches that of the server. This is to prevent people who are running home servers from being able to stream to us (security issues etc). Since you have your servers hosted in a datacenter, this is not an issue - so it was simply your use of remote desktop that got your application denied. You should be able to re-apply here: http://www.pbbans.com/account_application.php - so as long as you make the actual application via your own home PC there should be no issues. As far as I can tell, no permanent denial was issued so you should not run into issues with your re-application. To avoid unnecessary delays with your re-application, please make sure you read through our Terms of Service and the Streaming Application Requirements.

The PC version is an afterthought - I forsee issues and disappointment. I may purchase it, but I will be awaiting reviews and opinion posts on here first. The game I am looking forward to is the new Operation Flashpoint - the whining of console gamers on their forums bodes well for the PC version.

This thread has been dead since September 2008, and I can find no ban linked to the IP you are using now. If you are indeed banned somewhere, then complain to Evenbalance - not us. They make the violations, we just ban for them.

I use one. Nuff said. Macros may cause cries of indignation in some games - I tend to avoid using macro keys where they would give me an advantage. Having said that nothing is stopping you using macros at all, except for the inevitable local ban on some servers. Its personal preference really.

I wish :D Unfortunately no, ArmA2 does not use Punkbuster so cannot stream.

It does appear that as of recently, a few of our members are taking matters into their own hands on a few sites. There is nothing the staff here can do - we can't tell thousands of people what they can and can't do on the internet.

Any number of factors could have cause that shot. The first one of course is player resolution. The player may also have switched weapons as the shot was taken, leaving no weapon visible for the shot to see. Either way I do believe that shot is clean and does not show a hack in use in any way.

Unfortunately when it comes to dealing with PBSS, there are so many factors that can affect things - including server settings, client side settings and PB settings - that a lot of people will get a different result every time. Because PC gaming inherently has so many combinations of hardware and software - you will never get the same result twice. This results in shots that may look "dodgy" in some way. I can assure you though - playing at high resolution will result in a smaller area being shown in a PBSS - as unfortunately the PBSS system does not scale to the clients resolution. It simply takes a set number of pixels from what the client can currently see. for example, if I play at 1280x1024 and the server calls for a 320x240 resolution shot, they will get a lot less of my screen than they would if I played at 800x600. Its all relative to the resolution the player is using - which can result in things like the gun missing, odd artefacts etc.

Fair enough, I will close this one then. Just be aware that there are several thousand server admins out there that disagree with you. I would seriously reconsider the way you think, and the way you post in online communities - otherwise you will find people avoid your server and clan like the plague.
