the response your server makes when streaming is initiated via the PBBans Hub tells us straight away that there is an error on your server
Just to re-iterate things - streaming via the Hub needs 2 files uploaded to your root pb folder via ftp (pbucon.use and pbbans_hub.cg) and 1 command line added to your pbsv.cfg (pb_sv_load pbbans_hub.cfg)
or you can enter 5 commands via rcon as shown in the guide.
scroll down to the troubleshooting guide on here and go through it:

i just re-read my post and nowhere did i say you will have to put up with cheating - you can take intermediary measures like researching hack cvars or md5 scans to use on your server - but from a purely streaming perspective - from a home pc that is not running 24/7, i would say its a bit of a nightmare to keep track of especially when streaming via the PBBans Hub, and especially if you had a pbss/demo submission or a ban appeal query.
I would say the best solution all round would be to make a return here, if your still interested in streaming, when you have your dedicated machine up and running.
if any other staff member disagree's with this evaluation then they can deal with your streaming request.

got your forum pm - server added to the repository but thus far no data has arrived.
can you check your LogAddr and LogPort settings please
have you considered hub streaming as an option ?
-
just take a read of the streaming guides again m8.
there are 2 methods of streaming - rep and hub
rep requires a pbsvlog.cfg with this info in it;
pb_sv_LogAddr 63.171.64.22 // this never changes
pb_sv_LogPort 24389 // this never changes
pb_sv_LogUser USERNAME
pb_sv_LogPw PW
hub streaming requires 2 files (pbucon.use and pbbans_hub.cfg)
and the command pb_sv_load pbbans_hub.cfg added to your pbsv.cfg
its one or the other - your choice.
running a server off a home pc takes quite a bit of bandwidth not to mention cpu resources etc, otherwise if you get around 4 players connecting the lag would probably make the game unplayable - can your pc cope with this?
if we can only verify streaming at specific times of the day in all honesty i would say that streaming your server to any AC service would be a waste of time for us and for you

added and streaming via the hub
foxdie will enable forwarding as soon as he is available
thanks for restoring my faith in the hub sreaming guide :P and welcome :)

has something changed ?

the point i was trying to get across is that the pb commands i was asking you to verify and post the server response, are all bog standard commands except for one and should elicit a server response from any normal/working PB install
admin pb_sv_ver
admin pb_sv_uconlist
admin pb_sv_homepath
or even a simple admin pb_sv_plist
i see you have a pbsvlog.cfg in your pb folder too do you get any response to admin pb_sv_load pbsvlog.cfg
-
PB is great cheat detection software but when combined with md5 scans and cvar checks it becomes truly l33t :)
all the latest hack cvars and md5 scans are collected for you and placed in the PBBans Master Config Index (MCI) this will be one of the things available to you when streaming is confirmed.
Hackers love finding servers with no extra cvar checks or md5 scans, once you initiate streaming and start busting them they will quickly move on and leave your regular player base with a clean gaming environment :)
-
i have rechallenged your server and it still is not streaming :(
just to ease my mind, can you verify that any pb commands are being responded to by your server, such as:
admin pb_sv_ver
admin pb_sv_uconlist
admin pb_sv_homepath
or even a simple admin pb_sv_plist
i see you have a pbsvlog.cfg in your pb folder too do you get any response to admin pb_sv_load pbsvlog.cfg
from what i have read so far re your servers PB behaviour i would say something is wrong with the install - have you ran pbsetup at all ?

Can you forward my logs to ACI also?
Thanks.
foxdie is dealing with all forwarding requests and will add you to the ever growing list as soon as he has had his beauty sleep :D

Gameservers.com says they can not do htis to a ranked server because its a violation of EA's TOE for ranked servers. I tried to explain that it was not altering the game settings or the serversettings but to no avail. They will not do it to a ranked BF2 server.
Looks like =RIP= is looking for a new Game server host.
original post by Maydax
Since a lot of server companies don't allow access to the server files you can at least do this to get your server streaming to pbbans.
In BF2CC send the following commands:
pb_sv_logaddr 63.171.64.22
pb_sv_logport 24389
pb_sv_loguser yourusername
pb_sv_logpw yourpassword
Then do a pb_sv_writecfg to save these settings to the server.

The pb settings for setting up streaming servers to PBBans has nothing to do with the limitations on the ranked server access. They are simple pb settings and are legit to use.

Ok.. after some head -scratching I realised that the pm length must have been too long. The line does exist in the pbsv.cfg -just not where you suggest to put it. It is down the bottom of the file. I will move it to where you have it though and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks for that :)
yes.. the missing response to basic pb_sv commands concenrns me too, but pb is up to date, ver 1.244 ( normal server messages confirm this even though the ver command does not  and appears to work just fine. It has been reinstalled and the same thing happens.
Evenbalance told me to log onto the server using pbucon to try the commands.. but I have yet to work out how to do this - even with google as my friend
Back to trying :)
cheers
siskin
there is always the rcon option for initiating hub streaming :)
-
lol Yeah I just figured that out sorry tomuch work not enough sleep :)

Ok I'll enable forwarding for your server as soon as we finish final preparations.

Thx mate i banned the guy on our 6 servers
now i just need to figure that streaming thingy out, looks like it could make my work a bit easier
upload 2 files via ftp, add 1 command line to your pbsv.cfg or send 5 lines via rcon and your streaming :P
-
well - i have looked at your pbsv.cfg and looked at your pb folder contents.
conclusion;
blank file pbucon.use - exists
pbbans_hub.cfg - exists
the command in the pbsv.cfg to load the pbbans_hub.cfg - does not exist
here is part of your pbsv.cfg:
pb_sv_NoGuidGrace 60 //[seconds to wait before No GUID kick]
pb_sv_AliasFn "" //[Filename (default="pbalias.dat")]
pb_sv_AliasAutoLoad 0 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=0)]
pb_sv_AliasMax 0 //[Max # of Aliases to track for each PB GUID]
pb_sv_AliasMaxEnforce 0 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=0)]
pb_sv_load pbsvlog.cfg //load remote logging settings (if pbsvlog.cfg exists)
add this line pb_sv_load pbbans_hub.cfg like so:
pb_sv_NoGuidGrace 60 //[seconds to wait before No GUID kick]
pb_sv_AliasFn "" //[Filename (default="pbalias.dat")]
pb_sv_AliasAutoLoad 0 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=0)]
pb_sv_AliasMax 0 //[Max # of Aliases to track for each PB GUID]
pb_sv_AliasMaxEnforce 0 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=0)]
pb_sv_load pbsvlog.cfg //load remote logging settings (if pbsvlog.cfg exists)
pb_sv_load pbbans_hub.cfg
execute a pb_sv_restart via rcon
and lets see were we go from there - it would concern me if my servers did not respond to basic pb commands like pb_sv_ver and pbucon needs version 1.244 to work - i would personally upload pbsetup and run it straight away but one step at a time eh :)
best of luck
-
they would hardly notice a pb restart siskin :P and a screenshot of your pb folder would be nice :)
btw - whats the server response to the command admin pb_sv_ver ?
-
still nothing coming through m8 :(
are you using the ftp method or the rcon method to initiate streaming ?
(most who have had problems in the past have been streaming in minutes using the rcon method of initiation)
the simplest way to check yourself if the pbucon settings are correct is to enter admin pb_sv_uconlist via rcon - if you see this response:
PunkBuster Client: [Slot] [Type] [Mask] [Name] PunkBuster Client: 1 1 63.171.64.245 pbbans PunkBuster Client: End of PB UCON Profile List (1 Entry)
you know for sure everything is correct :)
what response do you get off your server ?
i have made a couple of updates to the guides on hub streaming, if your pbsv.cfg has this at the bottom :
;PB UCON Settings / Lists
pb_sv_usessionlimit 0
pb_sv_ucontimeout 300
pb_sv_uconempty
pb_sv_uconignoreempty
the easiest way to deal with it is to delete those lines from your pbsv.cfg
best of luck with it, thanks for your persistence, and if theres anything further we can do to help you out dont hesitate to ask - for example i have no problem looking over your servers pbsv.cfg if you pass it via forum pm.

i have tried most if not all remote rcon tools and hlsw is head and shoulders above the rest :)

if you send the command via rcon pb_sv_banlist you will see a server response that looks something like this:
