I was playing on ks server today and I got permanently banned from the server by punk buster.
I wasn't using any bots, hacks, wall hacker or any other bs. All I have is colored name created using this program I d/l off the sof2 website. And the punkbuster was up to date.
how do you guys tell if a player is a hacker or not? I have been playing this game for 5 years now and I was
never banned from any server playing this game. If you guys can't tell difference between a good player and a
hacker, then I dont understand why this site even exist. For people that plays right, all you guys are doing is pissing people off with a mistake like this. And tell me why did I get banned for?

PBBans is a privately run anti cheat site
PBBans is not PunkBuster™
Its entirely the server admins choice as to wether he imposes a perm ban or not
If you have played for 5 years I should think you should be able to tell the difference between a perm ban and a timed kick
This site exists to help server admins maintain a clean gaming environment
We did not make any mistake, because your not on our banlist
Look at the kick message in full to determine exactly what you got kicked for
and a bit of personal advice that has stood me in good stead over the years - check the facts before going public with a whine :P

Lets start at the beginning :)
No server port posted so I guessed 27960
PB is not enabled on this server:
The primary streaming method is the PBBans Hub which can be initiated with a few rcon commands.

Once you enable PB and enter the few rcon commands required for Hub streaming - you can then add server via your existing team account.
If all goes well you will see your server listed as streaming within a short time period.
If theres a problem you will receive a forum pm telling you so.
All this is dependent on PB being enabled on the server.

PTGN uses AliasFinder - when violation is added to AF it kicks players and calls them a cheating haxxor :D
Does this message get fllashed up when players are kicked for non bannable violations ?
Such as a rate/fov setting etc etc

Im not sure why, but I keep getting booted from servers. Is there anyway to find out why this might be happening?
Your profile info does not include what game you play, so a good start would be to state the game played and the exact kick message your getting on disconnection :)

I also have a ticket outstanding, as yet no reply.
Maybe EB should adopt a policy of not releasing updates at weekends when support seems minimal at best.

Punkbuster is at best competent anti cheat software when run on its own.
Its when its given a little help like cvar/MD5 scans that it becomes a lot more effective.
PBBans provides that little extra help to all its streaming game admins (SGA's)
For all its shortcomings, especially recently, PB remains by far and away the best anti cheat software out there, it's just a shame that insufficient testing before update releases has resulted in a lot of bad PR for EvenBalance of late, they need to work a lot faster on solutions before irrepairable damage is done to their hard earned credibility/reputation.
There are new kids on the block just itching to get a foot in the door and if they manage to get that all important foot in, the PB monopoly on viable anti cheat will be broken.
They should be moving heaven and earth to retain their rep and encourage new custom, atm I dont see that happening.

Ok, I have two UO servers in my account list :
195.242.236.39:28960 and
195.242.236.39:28965
Both these servers have the same PB cfg files as my CoD and CoD2 servers. Both servers respond ok when interroagted and show the PBBans link.
I have rechecked and uploaded the cfg files. I have rebooted the servers and restarted PB.
despiet all this they still show in my account list as not streaming.
Also, it is not possible to edit flags to allow hub bans - error says no editable flags.
Help !
