    do u guys add ppl to ur list from punkbusted or no cua there ppl that r ban from there but not here i was just wondering :D

    The only bans that we can be 100% certain of, are bans backed up by solid evidence via streamed logs - as we only have access to the PBBans streamed logs any other bans or banlist must be added at the server admin's discretion - we are not saying other anti-cheat sites bans are unreliable, we are saying that every ban on PBBans Master Ban Index(MBI) is backed up by cast iron proof :)

    The PBBans Hub was developed using the recently released PBUCON,which is a remote control/logging facility.

    PBUCON was initially released as an admin tool that you can interact with via a console,but as the remote control side of things was of no interest to us our programmers concentrated on the logging aspect.

    PBBans immediately recognised the huge possibilities that PBUCON presented as an alternative method of streaming and our programmers did some initial testing and found it far exceeded our expectations.

    They then set to work on building a new method of streaming based around PBUCON that gave server admins the security that they currently had pre PBUCON, but allowed streaming using this new method.

    As you can imagine,having 1000 servers streaming to one place with 1000 web interface consoles open would be rather impractical so that facility was not included in the developement of the PBBans Hub.

     

    This served 2 purposes:

    1. It made it impossible for anyone to send rcon commands via the PBBans Hub,except what is hard coded into the Hub itself.

    2. It made it possible for the PBBans Hub to run 65000+ servers.

     

    As always PBBans is all about "quality over quantity" and our coders have taken the time needed to get the PBBans hub running secure and stable.

    PBBans is also all about giving the people who fork out their hard earned cash choices.

    A server admin who is thinking about streaming to PBBans has the choice of selecting what method of streaming to use that suits best,and if that method is the PBBans Hub there are also choices that are outlined here click me

     

    So, to sum up - PBBans Hub is a secure method of streaming that takes the PBUCON facility that one step further. for just streaming you can set your profile to 0 by using this command:

    pb_sv_uconadd 1 69.65.22.152 pbbhub2-1 pbbanshub

    to take advantage of the PBBans Hub "live" banning and other planned enhanced features you can set your profile to 1 using this command:

    pb_sv_uconadd 1 69.65.22.152 pbbhub2-1 pbbanshub

    If you are already streaming to another anti-cheat repository using the conventional method of streaming that is not a problem as the PBBans Hub method will run quite happily alongside it.

    The first question we are always asked is "will this create lag ?" - we already have over 5,000 servers using the PBBans Hub and not one report of Hub induced lag has been reported.

    I hope this clears things up a bit for anyone who is not quite sure about what the PBBans Hub is all about and as always we are open to questions either here or on irc (network: quakenet channel: #pbbans)

    can i stream to more that one place, i already use AON to stream to, could i stream to you as well?

    most bans are by guid and applied locally or by servers running a banlist from an anti cheat site such as PBBans - any global ban, be it guid or hardware, is handled exclusively by evenbalance themselves.

     

    the latest pb version for cod2 is, as i type, server:v1.241 client:v1.258 A1367 if you connect to a server that is running an outdated version, due to an inexperienced or just plain lazy admin :P you will get a kick - after running pbsetup its right there in front of ya what the server / client vers. is on your pc.

     

    i have read that a complete uninstall followed by a reinstall has fixed packet flow probs for others - and also opening a firewall port and making a .cfg in notepad specifying that particular port, like so pb_netport xxxxx (xxxxx = the specified port) save as pbcl.cfg and place it in your pb folder has worked for others

     

     

    Why does PunkBuster kick me for INIT FAILURE?

     

    Usually, this message means your PB is not working properly. You should run our PBSETUP program to make sure your PB is up to date.

    However, we have recently discovered that some broadband routers routinely drop OOB (Out of Band) packets for no apparent reason. Since all PB packets are OOB, these routers can actually block PB's communication (again for no apparent reason). To determine if the router is the cause of this problem for you, remove the router and connect directly to the internet. If you are able to play this way, then the cause is very likely the router.

    Based on user feedback, the following router brands/models are reported to have problems. Not necessarily all models of a brand might be affected, and the list is in no way complete but it can give you a few hints. Also, we do not claim that our list below shows the only solution to fix your issue, nor that it will fix it for sure even though it has worked for others. It could very well be that changing some settings in your router could help as well. Contacting the company directly might help you as well.

     

    * Linksys - possible solution: Use firmware 1.44.2

    * Motorola - possible solution: Update to latest firmware

    * Netgear - possible solution: Disable SPI (statefull packet inspection)

     

     

    Why doesn't my PunkBuster Client work even though everything is installed properly?

     

    Check the fs_homepath game cvar from the game console (enter "\fs_homepath"). Then, using the explorer program on your computer, verify that the path pointed to by fs_homepath does in fact have a "pb" subfolder that includes at least these three files: pbsv.dll, pbcl.dll and pbag.dll (or pbsv.so, pbcl.so, and pbag.so on Linux systems). If not, then either locate and copy the "pb" folder from your game installation into the fs_homepath location, or change the fs_homepath cvar to point to your game installation. Note that the "pb" folder must have read and write permissions. We realize this can be a tricky topic. If you need further assistance, follow this link to create a new trouble ticket HERE.

    sorry Venom :P i thought your server was running something other than a relax setting of 0 (btw i deleted your ancient account here) lol

    only streaming game admins get mpi3 access nowadays (plus a couple of other forum ranks :) )

     

    that guid ec70e28e9e44b36ae34209e2fb8caf76 is, as mRx pointed out, a leaked key off the net - 448 aliases / 716 IP addresses / used by IP's from all over the world / linked to a lot of other PB supported games including 13 banned guid's for cheat related violations (which surprisingly enough are all sof2) - and that is only off the PBBans database :) it would not surprise me if that guid is added to the evenbalance global guid banlist pretty soon

    the exact ban message would be useful - best practise prior to any gaming session is to run pbsetup available here click me

    if you are getting a global guid ban then that can only be resolved by evenbalance themselves via the trouble ticket system click me

     

    no packet flow = no communication with pb master server - it could be a firewall issue - try with and without to confirm

    Guid relax 0 unfortunately doesnt answer the question behind whats going on here. That only makes it so PB does its full `kicking` I know I can relax the guid kick but our server will never do that. I wondered if this was some kind of key grabbing going on. A subject I know v little about and if any of you chaps had had a similar thing happen. I in 7 years playing SOF and 4 years as a server owner have never had this situation, but thanks for your help. I know its not my problem but if I think someone is on the end of some cheat/theft whatever key gen is then if I can help them I`ll at least try.

    lets start at the beginning - you have 3 guys with the same guid - do they have different IP's - (post the guid in here.)

     

    you say your server will never use a relax of 0 - thats your choice, but any other relax setting is opening the door for hackers.

     

    did they buy a "used game" off ebay or amazon? - anyone who buys a used game is taking a chance that the cd key is not on a banlist - solution: only buy from a reputable retail outlet - for example i could produce a "new" game complete with a generated cd key that would be hard to distinguish from the real thing.

    thats a kick that has appeared recently, so not a lot of information on it - from what i have read elsewhere there are a couple of things to try:

     

    1. try turning your firewall off

    2. do a complete scan for any malaware or virus's

    3. make sure your pb is fully up to date (use pbsetup)

    i have yet to get any pb_sv_commands to work while in the server

    There are two types of commands admins can use:

    (1) Normal SCMD commands which you can get by logging into to SCMD and typing "SCMD help"

    (2) Punkbuster Commands (if your server is running PB) for which the PB commands are all listed in the PB Admin guide for FEAR here click me

     

    Bring up the global chat window (T by default) and then log in as an admin by typing the follwing:

     

    SCMD login xxxxxxxx

    (replace the xxxxxxxx with your server password)

     

    you should get a message: SCMD Login Successful.

     

    you could try this, one command at a time via SCMD:

     

    scmd pb_sv_writecfg pbucon.use

    scmd pb_sv_restart

    scmd pb_sv_usessionLimit 1

    scmd pb_sv_uconadd 1 63.171.64.245 pbbans pbbans

    scmd pb_sv_writecfg

     

    afaik hlsw (a remote admin tool) works with FEAR - i have sent you a tutorial on how to set it up via forum pm

    Hi fozzer,Some one at our host deleted the directory with streaming details in :rolleyes: :( I have had it re-instated it and rebooted the server :D so we should be be streamimg again.

     

    Can you check it out for me please
