    if it is a player name with extended ascii characters that is causing this freeze - it can be controlled using this pbcvar command

     

     

    PB_SV_ExtChar [0/1]

    The default setting of 0 tells PunkBuster to disallow extended ASCII Characters in player names; for the purposes of this command, characters that cannot be easily entered with simple keystrokes are considered extended

    YAWN was a great help to me when i started out in the admin scene and the latest version is a credit to tziek and his team - a lot of players still use YAWN and anytime tziek needs some assistance re info from PBBans i'll do my best to provide it - one good turn deserves another :)

    just make sure that you followed the step by step guide posted here:

    pbucon checks:

     

    check the latest version of pb is running on the server by typing pb_sv_ver via rcon

     

    check that the file pbucon.use is in your pb folder

     

    check that the file pbbans_hub.cfg is in your pb folder

     

    check that the command pb_sv_load pbbans_hub.cfg is added to your pbsv.cfg

     

    execute a pb_sv_restart via rcon

     

    (the exact location of your pb folder can be found by typing pb_sv_homepath via rcon)

     

    if your happy all the above checks out type:

    pb_sv_uconlist via rcon

     

    the server response should be:

     

    PunkBuster Server: [slot] [Type] [Mask] [Name]

    PunkBuster Server: 1 208.122.49.138 pbbhub1

    PunkBuster Server: End of PB UCON Profile List (1 Entry)

    if you get that response the next step is to check that your streaming by going here http://www.pbbans.com/msi.php and entering your server ip/port into the search window and pressing the search IP button - at the moment your server shows:

    so at least it is streaming :P - we recommend that you leave the existing method of streaming as it is for the time being while we continue to work on the pbbans hub, thats just to ensure that no llama's slip through any cracks that might appear in this initial pbbans hub launch stage - although thus far no major probs have appeared :) - so,to sum up,as long as your server is running the latest version of PB, streaming via the hub requires 2 files in your pb folder (pbucon.use and pbbans_hub.cfg) and the command pb_sv_load pbbans_hub.cfg is added to your pbsv.cfg - nothing else is required for pbbans hub streaming and it will run quite happily alongside the standard method of streaming :)

    cvar and md5 checks are just that - checks - if the file or cvar aint there then theres nothing to be flagged up :)

     

    i have yet to see a plausible explanation of how a player can pluck a cvar like pm_aimpoint = 2.5 out of thin air - and for someone with previous makes it all the more unbelievable tbh

     

    **edit/update** just in case his mail dumps his ban appeal decision into the bin - the appeal was rejected and the ban upheld.

    you know - what really would have saved all this posting and checking etc - is if the correct server ip/port had of been posted in the first place - your server port is not Port:22458 its Port:1716:

    ech it et so I just deleted etkey, problem is I was playing on non pb servers where everyone is cheating than deleted aimbot and playing on normal server with pb secure and pb banned me automaticly for sol_aim 1, im just informing you guys dont even reply for messages, I would be glad even for message I will not be unbanned but for 5 months I got nothing:)

    from what i see your guid ef7aa89a053d3eafbf7264d5893fae02 and the ip you registered with are clean - a little tip for you,after you use a downloaded hack and then decide to uninstall it(or so you say you did), its always a good idea to remove the cvars from your mp cfg as well - be thankfull ET is a free game otherwise you would have to pay for a new game to play and we only have your word that you played on none pb servers,and coming from someone who admits to d/l an aimbot and using it that admission makes your whine on here a bit of a joke - an auto generated email is sent to all ban appealers re wether its successful or not, most who complain of a lack of response find that their mail filters are set to auto delete or find it in their junk folder

     

    your ban appeal was sent in March not February and it was rejected .. as a bunker admin you should have known better - also be thankful for dynamic ip's or you would not even have an account here to moan on - and last but not least, have you been on vacation, it only took you 4 months to ask about your ban

    your server does not show as active in hlsw (hlsw is a remote rcon programme that allows you to see any active servers)

    is this a home server ? if not who do you rent from ?

    Hi can someone please help with COD2 problem. Not sure if this is the correct thread, if not then I apologise.

     

    I have been getting kicked via PB for (gamehook) violation 125002 (i think thats the number). I looked this up and it says that it is a cheat. I have been using modded maps etc... and various other servers but this only started happening when I was last on EC R][flies server. It had also changed my menus etc in the games front end. Now I keep getting this gamehook violation everytime I try to play online.

     

    I tried uninstalling COD2, deleting anything left behind from the uninstall (folders/files etc) I cleaned my system registry, re-installed the game and added patch 1.3 But I still get kicked ...how can I get rid of this....damn I curse EC R][fles. I don't cheat and never have + I hate cheats. Whats the point in buying a game if your just gonna cheat. It defeats the whole purpose of playing the game. Anyway I'm going off on one here...so please any help would be greatfully appreciated.

    gamehook detections are normally cheats that are detected outside of the game directory - if you open a trouble ticket here click me an evenbalance staff member will look into it for you - as always the key word with any trouble ticket query is patience :)

    what do the first 2 mean because i no 4 a fact it wasnt the server admin, and it only says i have a guid ban. but for a truble ticket can u giv me a link because i checked that site and couldnt find anything.

    lets start at the beginning ..post your guid here and maybe we can advise you what to do and were to go - also we need to see the complete kick message.

     

    can you join any other pb enabled servers or does the same kick message appear every time ?

    but not full Master Ban Index (MBI) list- just bans made in last week :o

    Isn't this silly ? :P

     

    So.. can I delete bans that aren't "mine"?

    one of the prime objectives of any anti cheat site is to make the contributing servers as cheat free as possible and that includes keeping your ban files up to date - this keeps your server free of any convicted cheaters and makes it damn hard for a convicted cheater to find decent servers to play on.
