afaik all jolt clanservers have this in their start file - +set com_hunkmegs 64 this is more than enough for anything you want to run:
to check things out yourself you will need to download putty here click me and set it up as per instructions .. if you rent a jolt server the login is the same as your ftp login and pass.
a how to use putty guide can be found here click me its sof2 specific but take a look and you will get the drift:
the commands that you will use most often after you log in are:
cat /proc/cpuinfo .... displays info re cpu
cat /proc/meminfo .... displays info re memory
ls .... lists the directory you are currently in
ls -la .... lists all files and their permissions
ps axu .....displays everything that is running % wise re cpu and memory
ps x ..... shows what servers are running by server number
kill xxxx ...... kills that specific server(xxxx = the server number)
./start_xxxx .... will restart the killed server (xxxx = the name of your start file)

Seems to be alot of this since the latest PB updates, one added sending screenshots every minute and is something that seems to be causing lots of spikes. The Jolt servers would be fine for a bit then we would lose players left right and centre with no warning cause of PB packet loss.
yep and whats worse is that its completely out of the server admins control .. i am considering running Jolt servers with pb_sv_AutoSs 0 untill i hear of something resembling normality appearing again .. first the cod2 fiasco which is still ongoing and now this .. its only the cheaters that are getting much fun out of gaming lately

With the new release of the new patch, seems like everyone who has hacks come back again. I guess the cfg files we have can't verify the patch 1.05 files?
Quite a few people flying around in all of my servers right now.
if the violations are logged, when the parser goes through the logs all will be added to the MBI ... has kicking been temporarily disabled by EB for FEAR too ?

try deleting pbcl.db - pbcl.dll - pbag.dll - pbags.dll and running pbsetup afterwards
could that be the file names :)

I THINK I have the "loss of packets" issue solved......(that has yet to be seen though).
But I am having an issue getting kicked for "Blocked OS Priviledges"
I am the only person that uses this CPU and I am listed as the admin. How do I fix this?? :unsure:

had a case just last week were this issue was resolved with .... a reboot :)
the official line is this:
I keep getting kicked by PunkBuster for "Blocked O/S Privileges"?
Please temporarily disable other security type programs you have running such as anti-virus, process guard, SDProtector, etc. to find out which of them is blocking PB's access to resources on your computer. You either need to run PB without the blocking program(s) or play on non-PB servers. Also make sure you run the game under an Administrator or equivalent account under Windows. If you do have access an admin account, you can right click on the application you want to run and select "Run As". This will allow you to give admin access to that program and should allow you to play with a limited user.
if you have gone through this then try deleting pbcl.db - pbcl.dll - pbag.dll - pbags.dll and running pbsetup afterwards .. some malaware can induce this problem so a full sweep of your system would be recommended too .. and if all that does not help you can try opening a trouble ticket here
try to give as much info as possible and be prepared to wait for a response

why would it though?
Just an error in programming or EB being idiots?
quite the reverse m8 :) EB have the option to disable auto kicks at the master server end and normally apply this when a new update is released ..if all goes smoothly its not long before the auto kicking is re-enabled .. if things do not go smoothly it saves lotsa players getting kicked for nothing .. if you stop and think about it .. it makes sense .. normally if the auto kicking feature of PB has been disabled at the master server end you get a message from PB saying so :)

just to clarify... if i get that problem on my other pc ( and ive gone back to my good one and it works perfect , no setting change at all, go figure ) , i type in console :-
pb_sv_cvar rate IN 2500 25000
but i adjust the 1st one to 5000 if i have a good connection ( adsl ) ?
if you have a decent adsl connection the correct rate setting is 25000 .. either select the correct connection details in the game profile options(options/system/networking), or when you join the server bring down the console and type /rate 25000
you will notice the vast improvement in gameplay immediately :)
25000 is the upper limit as the Q3 code itself has a cap of 25000.

whenever i set a server up i put in checks that cater for the majority of players :)
a few years ago the majority were on dial up connections with 56k modems .. in a short space of time there has been a huge shift towards broadband .. so i always set the rate to reflect what would enhance gameplay for the majority of players who connect to a server that i run:

Problems with choppy gameplay may be the result of not setting your connection speed when you create your profile. The connection defaults to ISDN, which is a rate of 5000. If your rate is set to something not appropriate for your connection, you'll get lag. If you're playing over a LAN or a DSL or cable modem, your rate should be set to 25000.
pb_sv_cvar rate IN 2500 25000
Players using a setting below 2500 will be very jerky and possibly forcing warping or making themselves very hard to hit. 2500 is the default for 56k modems and really is very low, a 56k modemer should really try 3000 even on a poor 4kps connection to get better gameplay. Maybe more of an issue is scripts setup to change between rate settings, using a low setting while reloading to minimise weakness. 25000 is the upper limit as the Q3 code itself has a cap of 25000. A broad range of rate settings are therefore allowed to cover all those perfectly reasonable while not allowing those which are unnecessary.
Clan-related organisations should consider 3000 at a minimum, or if you would rather have players who have at least an ISDN-equivalent connection, then 5000 should be the lower value, to allow some room for low-quality voice comms. 56k players can play fine (better!) with rate 3000, but on a public you cannot really expect these players to have a clue about changing the default connection settings by opening the console and typing in commands.
Note another possible misuse of the connection settings is to make ping look very bad, in order to demand clanwar takes place on a server where they have an advantage, rather than the one best overall.
at the end of the day its your choice as the server admin .. like i said when setting your server up - edit whatever you want to suit your regular players :P

i know you do your best m8 as does every cod2 admin atm .. just seems that IW/Activision and dare i say it evenbalance, seem to be dragging their heels on the cod2 linux issues

First of all, I'm sorry for my bad english...
Well, now the matter: I've a problem with an admin on a serv, who told me I'm cheating .. but I'm absolutely not !!
HE is making video of my game play and tell me he will send it to you ...
What can I do against that ? I don't want to be banned for cheat (I insist on I'm absolutely not using one !)... (this admin isn't a good one, I'll try to talk with him, but he doesn't want to hear me ... I'm so bored.
I'm myself an admin on a server who is using POunkbuster (Servergamers)...
Well, I hope that Fozzer will read this post, he knows that I'm not a cheater, and like I've got already said: I don't want to be banned for something I haven't done...
His username on ET is D@ant0n Q, a guy that can't understand that someone is better than him ... Please help me agaisnt that (if it is possible).

i would not worry about anyone who threatens to send in a demo to us .. first and foremost the server has to be streaming here for a demo or pbss to be admissable as evidence of a hack .. then the demo/pbss info has to be verified as untampered by stringent examination of streamed logs .. last but not least an experienced member of staff has to be 100% sure of a hack in use and verification obtained from other staff members before anything progresses .. in short, only the absolute certainties make it onto our master ban index :)
The PBBans motto is "always quality over quantity" and the integrity of our banlist is something we take very seriously :) ..so if an actual hack has not been used,rest easy :P

Are the issues solved yet for problems.. I notice there is only one ban still.. Although I do know you have caught alot more... Very shocked there is on 22 caught for UO...? Seems odd..
On another note... Are server is very popular.. But as most we get some assholes.. LOL.. Is there any type of admin files that could be added similiar to what we had for S.O.F. remember the lightning strikes and fish slaps.. Maybe something similiar.. THIS IS A MUST... LOL.... ANYTHING would be great..

no resolves have been posted as of yet by IW/Activision .. lots of hot air and even the appointment of a community liason manager .. try to remember that cod2 is a vastly different kettle of fish compared to sof2 and rather than strike some llama with lightning or give a slap with a fish,the kick commands work great

a possible explanation may be that the reository refreshed while you had your server offline making cfg amendments .. normally if i set em up they stay streaming :P

catching loads on cod2 atm but because of the 31 hexadecimal guid's all are worthless ..its high time whoever is responsible for fixing this problem got their arse into gear and sorted it :(

yes, you need to have HLSW connected to the server in order for it to work....it should show the server name and also say "connected" to it,,after that theres the space you talk aboout for password,,,,it'll be white if your logged on...if you see the server but it keeps showing grey it means you are seeing a server
{any server } but it doesnt recognise it as being yours ...try going to mirc and getting help while your online ...someone there can make sure its actually connected and not just showing the name :]

but the rcon features remain greyed out .. i have never seen this error before and from browsing the hlsw forum this is a one off .. it might be worth posting on the hlsw forums and see what turns up.
does the normal admin features work via the game console ?

btw Bloodrunner .. you have a pbbans.dat that will contain all your bans and you have a pbsvuser.cfg that holds the md5 checks for known hacks .. the violation and cheat logs will self generate when a violation/cheat is detected :)

thanks again fozzer u have been great as i said yest....ur service is unlike anythign ive been around for quite some time and i will talk to clanwarz abt there lack of service.....ur right i shld not have to have u go so far above and beyond to correct and fix what is there problem.......i will be thinking abt looking for another provider because of all the, well ask them and see if they can help you. blah blah...im not happy and as i told them yest i wrked on it from 8 in the morg till 8 at night...and as an architect that day has cost me a lot of money in time ......with the only result i got was from PBBans...u gys are damn good at what u do and like i said great customer skills,,, u get AAAAA +++++ from me and i will spread the word it was a client who uses u guys that said go use them and they were right..... seeing as you have no ssh access and can not "cd" to your pbweb.x86 to update your server PB, means you are reliant on your providers webadmin pbupdate button .. i just took another look at your pb folder and noticed that the pbweb.x86 they have placed on your server was read only .. so no matter how many times you pressed the pbupdate button nothing was happening .. i have made the pbweb.x86 executable so now maybe you will get something positive happening ... for updating PB on your own pc i would recommend pbsetup which is a lot more user friendly than pbweb and can be run from anywhere on your pc .. try it out .. you can get it here click me :)

hope you dont mind bloodrunner but i just spent 6 mins on your clanwarz webadmin and ftp .. i deleted the pb folder and disabled pb in your config_mp_server.cfg .. i restarted the server as vanilla cod2 then enabled pb and watched a nice fresh pb install appear .. i then enabled pam mod ..because thats what was on it when i started.
your server pb info now reads:
^3PunkBuster Server: PunkBuster Server (v1.108 | A1302 C1.203) Enabled
this is what it should be :)
why clanwarz tech support could not do this beats me .. enjoy your server and the rest of your day m8

hi bloodrunner ..your hosting company (clanwarz) is quite possibly the worst i have ever come across for technical support .. when they said there was nothing they could do to get your pb working and for you to contact PB,you kindly trusted me with your ftp password .. all i did was remove the pb folder and restarted your server .. this allowed the server to find the pb_sv_homepath automatically .. problem solved

i also found another pbsvlog.cfg tucked away inside a folder with details from psb in it .. now if you did not put it there that means your server host did >> without your permission

hey Juden .. welcome to the quality anti cheat site m8 :)
to find your pb folder use hlsw as a remote admin tool, and put this command in the console window and press the send button:
pb_sv_homepath
normally to access files on your server via ftp you will need a ftp client .. there are plenty of free ones to choose from :)
login and password is normally passed to you by your hosting company .. admin work takes a lot of learning but with the right tools it can be a hell of a lot easier.

from what i remember PB_SV_AutoUpdBan 1 is already part of your pbsv.cfg
when you go to the mbi and click generate banlist ..it generates the most up to date banlist for that paticular game .. just download it to your desktop and add in any local bans you have in your own pbbans.dat then upload to your server (overwriting the one on there) pb_sv_restart- job done, thats the easiest way for you i think :)
