Can't say they were not warned about hacks. The response to something I picked up on dated Apr 07, 2011, was along the lines of "dont worry, I doubt the validity of some of those claims" Yet here we are in the beta phase with hacks already in use. I find it quite tragic that cheat coders always seem to get access to what they need to provide their cheats, and EA/DICE can not even provide server file access to anti cheat site staff Lets hope the PB intergration for BF3 is a cut above what we normally get served up because without server file access, to test and debug the streaming side of PB, it's in the lap of the Gods :blink:

Post back here when you have removed all your server information from this website (it gives a list of COD series servers that use cracked server binaries) and a member of staff will assist you further;

It's all very well saying this; The interesting thing from my personal point of view will be seeing if THQ learned anything from rejecting the KAOS recomendation of PB as the anti cheat solution for HomeFront and electing to go with the VAC only option. We are all aware of how that turned out :rolleyes: Whats the old saying "you get what you pay for" and VAC was absolutely free :scratchchin: The bar has been set by the TripWire game devs with RO2:HOS who give server admins the choice of PB or VAC, or PB + VAC with 3 different levels of PB to select from. The track record of Crytek and THQ re anti cheat does not bode well. Crytek never did get full PB intergration into any of their games and I well remember them promising a patch one day and then abandoning all support the next (Crysis) PB support was dropped completely from both Crysis and Crysis Wars in Aug 2010 and their own attempt at anti cheat (Crysis2) has been a joke, I can not in all honesty find another way of describing it. So in effect, Crytek have never experienced how effective PB + streaming can be because they have never managed to fully intergrate PB into any of their products. THQ had time to intergrate PB into HomeFront and the KAOS devs were recommending that option, they chose to go with VAC only and the game never recovered from the huge influx of cheaters that plagued HomeFront from day 1 of retail release, causing HomeFront to crash and burn in a very short space of time. Will THQ and Crytek learn anything from the past ? I for one will be watching with interest to see what transpires :scratchchin:

I still cant access your forums because it appears my IP is banned. From what you have posted I can take a guess, it looks like you have used the rcon/query port as opposed to the actual game/join port for all 3 of your servers, or PB is not up to date. Solution = check that you have entered the actual game/join port for all 3 of your servers, and check that PB is fully up to date (v1.837 v2.278 | A1372)

Additional info: The only people that can apply a fix are EvenBalance so we are totally dependent on them getting their proverbial act together. Advance notice was supplied re this issue and as yet nothing has been done. We are as frustrated as you but its totally out of our hands :angry:

You have recently been added to team account #11599 by SpartanSoul. There is a level 3 IP restriction enabled on server 72.9.97.44:27960, it will probably be this that is kicking you .. solution = Disable this feature.

Another "HomeFront" type debacle is looming on the horizon Game devs / community managers etc etc seem to go around with blinkers on, especially so when it comes to anti cheat measures.

With MW3 having just one drawback (no PB) and BF3 having a list of drawbacks (read above) and lets not forget that no one knows if BF3 will stream as it should because no one has had an opportunity to test it. MW3 is looking more appealing than ever when I compare the 2 games. If that annoying little runt fourzerotwo and his cronies, took a peek at what happened to Homefront when it relied soley on VAC, just maybe they would experience a miraculous enlightenment re anti cheat. Thats just my opinion of course :P

They had just the game to do that as well with BF3, but seem to be trying their utmost to cock the chance up in one way or another (no unranked server files, battlelog, no in game menu, not able to connect to a server via ip etc) :blink: On the flip side, MW3, based on what I have seen so far, may have just trumped BF3 at the last minute (the one big drawback for MW3 is no PB) .. be interesting to see how it all pans out :scratchchin: My personal opinion is MW3 would have retained top spot for the COD series without too much effort if PB was offered to run in conjunction with VAC, or as an alternative to VAC, but even without PB its going to be a pretty close second to BF3 ... and thats dependent on EA/DICE springing no more surprises :P

VAC has a big advantage over anything else ...it's absolutely free :P It always brings the old adage to mind; "You get what you pay for." They should offer server admins the "perk" of choosing VAC or PB or both ..... now that really would be an innovative step forward for MW3 and Activision/infinity ward/sledgehammer. If the devs of RO2:HOS can do it, the question must be asked ... why cant all game devs do it :scratchchin:

Hi Poffa :) PBBans is a third party anti cheat site staffed by volunteers. We are also gamers and in a situation like this a modicum of common sense should be applied. The aimbot violation #50074 caused by players with a seperated s at the end of their ingame alias is a simple thing to replicate (e.g. Poffa s) and as such PBBans thinks its unsafe and unethical to issue a ban based on a quite obvious detection pattern error. Because its so easy to replicate, we added #50074 to the exempt list on our systems and it will not be taken off the exempt list untill EB confirm that the issue is resolved and we have tested it out ourselves. What other anti cheat sites do is entirely out of our control but at PBBans quality always takes precedence over anything else, and enforcing a ban because a player has a seperated s at the end of their ingame alias is not a quality decision by any stretch of the imagination. PBBans has been in contact with EB staff re this issue, and several members of staff raised a #50074 aimbot violation on their own COD2 cd keys whilst assisting EB to track down the reason why this particular detection pattern is flawed. I have asked today if there is an update re this issue and am awaiting a reply.

Server 85.131.247.9:28680 =GFC=German-Clan by Professional-Gameserver.com Does not even have PB enabled at the moment, and it is certainly not in our systems. After doing a quick check of that group, they do not even qualify for a team account with PBBans because they have several cheaters within their group.

PBBans cheat related cvar scans, MD5 scans and Cheat File Matches are intentionally configured to be "lean and mean" Other anti cheat sites are not so ergonomically friendly with their scans, so if you stream to other AC sites and intergrate the scans and bind searches etc that are employed by anyone other than PBBans, you run the risk of a potential flood issue. There is also the issue that other anti cheat services spam the command pb_sv_md5toolempty at least on a daily basis, that results in all MD5 scans getting wiped in order for that particular anti cheat site to load their own scans and no one elses.
