I'm not sure why he got the bot violation, but as it shows as a "2 minute kick". I would think he should have the benefit of the doubt in fact with a kick showing and not a ban I would guess he just hit some kind of hiccup in the system.
Just to clarify things :P
Any player that incurs a violation as per this list;
Cheat/Hack Violations:
When PunkBuster detects a cheat or hack by repeated positive identification on a player's computer, a violation is raised. These violation numbers are 50000 and higher. Families of cheats are listed below. Resolution: Remove cheats and hacks from the computer.
#50000s - Aimbot
#60000s - Wallhack
#70000s - Multihack
#80000s - Gamehack
#90000s - 'Cheat' Video Drivers
#100000s - Speedhack
#110000s - Autofire
#120000s - Game Hook
#130000s - Attempted PunkBuster Hack
will incur a 2 minute kick (which is default) or for whatever time the server admin has specified using the pb_sv_KickLen cvar.
The only bans directly issued by EvenBalance are globalguid/hardware bans.
So in theory a player can receive a 2 minute kick for an aimbot violation, delete his cheat, and be back playing in the same server 2 minutes later.
This is were proactive admins come in, and issue a pbguid ban for anyone who raises a violation from the above list.
When streaming is back up and running, any player who raises a violation from the above list will be banned off all PBBans streaming servers and the only course of action for a player would be to raise a troubleticket with EvenBalance and ask if the violation is valid, they will of course have to explain why they think its not valid.
I hope this clears up any misconceptions about a mistake being made etc etc.

I applied the upgrade manually, as I always do if a server is confirmed as streaming when I check it in.
Re the old servers, just re-add them and set them as old server, your catches will then show in sigs :)

Hey..
We just recently shut down our old servers, and due to this I just cleared them out of our account on here, but when I cleared it, my SGA status disappeared. :(
Was it because I cleared them? I just submitted 4 new servers to our account to stream, and 3 more are to come after that. My friend Caveman's SGA status has gone poof too. :(

If/when you add server(s) to your team account, once streaming is confirmed an automatic upgrade will be applied.
Just a point to note, if you had catches made on your old servers they will not show in your signature if the servers are deleted.
Catches will show if the servers are left in your team account and flagged as old server.

OK but you should have to get a picture evidence of it and show it to the player. I'm not trying to start anything, i just think that its not very fair, for someone to hack your key then use hacks on it. when its a $50 game, its a serious topic, the player getting banned should see and be able to back up the picture. He was at work the time that he got banned. There was no way to stop it from happening
AIMBOT #50120 is a full blown PB software detection.
No amount of posts/complaints etc etc on here is going to get the ban removed from the MBI (Master Ban Index)
There is one way to approach this type of detection with a view to getting the ban rescinded, and thats to open a troubleticket with EvenBalance, explain your situation and ask if #50120 is a valid violation.
What happens after that is entirely dependent on the answer your friend gets off EvenBalance.

Once you get streaming;
open team account/view servers/edit flags/uncheck accept Hub bans/check enforce bans.
This means that you never have to download/update any banlist.
The Hub will check every connecting player against the MBI and issue a kick/ban command if the player appears on the MBI.
Because the Hub checks every player and not the server it will save vital server resources.
Even if an admin wipes clean the server pbbans.dat by mistake, anyone on the MBI will still be prevented from joining your server.

Found the cheat personally? No. I really don't know what works and what doesn't or what/how stuff gets by PB.
The only one I would think would be working is a program that you have to pay for, or get illegally via torrents.
I could tell you the name so you can investigate it, as it does look more professional than the rest.
Any cheat info you have can be passed to a staff member via forum pm.

Saying the cheat was undetected on streaming servers is dependent on wether the server admin was running the recommended cvar/md5 scans, have you contacted the server admin at all ?

I believe you know Haggis? He was on our server last night and spotted a hacker called Dingalong (Or similar). Anyways we got chatting and he said to say hello to Fozzer, so hi mate.
He said to get your downloads to help catch cheaters as he realised we hate the buggers and want a clean server, but I'm lost already :(
We rent a server thro Game-serve (Not Dedi) and we use their Contol-4U panel or try to. Because we're newish to running a server we only use this panel when we have to cause we are real dumn. I downloaded rconmax which is brilliant and easy to use, and does all the comands we need right now.
Ok so question:
We want to do the streaming but I'm lost with all the downloads that may be needed. Can you tell me from what I've put here which downloads we actualy need? And will this effect anything when we join say Enemy Down League matches. :blink:

I know it all looks a bit daunting to anyone who is new to the admin game, but it really does not take long to get the hang of admining a game server by utilising pb to its full extent.
A few rcon commands (thanks for your input FIGHTER_JH) is all it takes to initiate streaming.
You fill in a team account application and once added to the PBBans system and streaming is confirmed you will have access to the cvar/md5 scans that will keep your server as cheat free as humanly possible.
PBBans uses a modern streaming method that will also help to keep those private/paid for cheats off your server as well.
Streaming not only helps keep your server clean, you will also be doing the whole community a favour because if a cheater is detected on 1 Hub streaming server he will also be banned off every other PBBans protected server, instantly.
We currently have 1322 streaming cod4 servers (and rising daily), thats a lot of servers that a cheater can not get into.
If you need any help setting things up you can ask questions on here and either a PBBans staff member or a fellow streaming game admin will point you in the right direction.
We also have an irc channel were you can talk directly to PBBans staff (just click the PBBans irc tab at the top of this page)
Haggis is a good guy, and nice to see he is still alive and kicking :)

Hi, old time gamer and was here when Rodeo first started pbbans as [boB]Rimmel.
Just myself got cod4 and a server and was wondering what exactly are the requirements to get accepted onto the streaming hub administrator account side?
e.g
Must I have a clan
Must I ahve a clan website already set up?
etc etc
Basically myself and a few friends just want to run a nice friendly public server with good cheat protection.

Hi Rimmel,
Any server admin who wants to keep his server(s) clean is welcome here :)
A team name & clan tag are requirements needed more for identification purposes than actual fact, so there is no problem with, team name = Rimmel & clantag |RML| for example.
A website is useful but not mandatory.
Just enter the few commands in the streaming guides via rcon and fill out a team account application and your server will be streaming as soon as a staff member gets to it.
Dont forget that just streaming is only half the battle, you will need to run the recommended cvar/md5 scans to help keep your server as cheat free as possible, access to the recommended cvar/md5 scans is entirely dependent on the streaming status of your server.

To completely eliminate this type of comment, get your server streaming and all your pbss can be confirmed as the genuine article by "live"/ as it happens streamed log information complete with the digital fingerprint (MD5#) of all pbss taken on your server.

Any team found to be streaming a cracked server will have their account removed, server blacklisted and forum user(s) permanently banned.
Also the server information will be reported to InfinityWard / Activision.
If you have a cracked server in your account you are advised to remove it immediately.
Cracked servers disable CDKey checks and let anyone play.
A forum ban may kick in as soon as a review is done by rodeobob.

I think the topic should be;
Why bother to whine on a privately run anti cheat site.
Achieves absolutely nothing, if you have come across anything untoward on various BF servers, its best practise to use the proper procedures that are in place for dealing with the kind of things you listed originally.
