I picked this up myself, great game and it's huge :o

The forums are back online :)
-
Official word from Valve via Steam client and the forums main page:
-
No, I didn't buy MW2 and I refuse to buy any Activision game.
-
Addition: After checking out a few more sites, seems that one website has been blamed for it (I won't post the name) although they deny the attack. I can't give the source as that gives the name of the hack site and I won't give them any attention.
-
The forums have been down for at least 24 hours, I'm presuming an upgrade of some kind due to the number of people registered which is now close to 1 million. Maybe they've hit a problem and it's taking longer than expected but a short message explaining that would be nice, I wonder what the problem is :scratchchin: Edit: I've just found this though: http://www.1up.com/news/steam-forums-down-after-hack The plot thickens!

Pre-order Afterfall Insanity FPS for just $1
xX_Renegade_Xx replied to MaydaX's topic in Gamers Sanctuary
10 Million pre-orders? BF3 had less than 2 million in September and I hope the devs realise that putting 10 million names in the credits at the end of the game will take about 4 years for it to finish (slight exaggeration). -
Yes I just have, one section from that post: I don't know the details and I'm not going to speculate but if that is true and mistakes have been made on both sides then surely you can both reach a compromise? At least for the sake of this:
-
I agree, their are 2 sides to every story but surely it makes more sense to work with another A/C site than against them? If what MaydaX says is true then I guess the term 'we're all in it together to catch cheaters' only applies if those admins are not streaming here but to your site instead? That makes no sense to me, feel free to enlighten me.
-
I thought the first game was a flop? It must have exceeded sales expectations then, they sold 5 copies instead of 3! ;)
-
This is a new indie title from Steam, nice and cheap at the moment and it's very good, check it out: http://store.steampowered.com/app/92600/ I bought it but I wasn't sure if it was my type of game, I was quite surprised by it and I find it very enjoyable for an indie title :) Let me know what you think.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad
xX_Renegade_Xx replied to buttscratcher's topic in Gamers Sanctuary
I don't doubt the support, I think we've had 3 patches since release, that's very good but still some players cannot run the game, it either crashes when joining a game or before it even starts up and this is on high spec rigs which are well above the recommended requirements, yes I'm well aware of different hardware configs but the point I'm trying to make is those players won't hang around for long for a game they can't even play and haven't been able to since its release. -

The game is getting a lot of grief at the moment, the only problem I've had so far is one CTD (last patch but one) but besides that it runs fine for me. The release could have been better though, I think a lot of it stems from players who were taking part in the beta and then when the game was released some of the bugs that were mentioned are still in the final game. I'm sure Tripwire are working through everything and I have no doubt the game will get better from now on, some people 'expect' a fix for everything within a few hours/days and that's just not possible. My only concern is how many players have turned away from the game because of the problems at release. -

I was playing the full release last night, few problems in singleplayer but multiplayer plays fine for me, even better than the beta so very pleased about that. The devs were right too about working on the game until the last minute, I pre-loaded the game which was just under 8gb and they released a patch for it before it was released and that was 2.6gb, I don't know what they did with that last beta patch but it worked, for me at least :D -
I wasn't sure if I was watching a movie or a game ;) It does look intense, if it plays that smoothly I'll be very happy :D

Yes they do like to play for the objectives on that server, well, unless you're on the losing team then they just like to camp :( Another huge update out which I downloaded this morning, new maps over the weekend too, woot! :D -

Only 2 UK servers, your ping might be a bit high :P http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/81.19.213.40:7777/ Played here last night, admin are on regularly and the server players seem to play for the objectives. I also play here: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/81.19.212.33:7877/ Admins are always on but watch for spawn killing, I had someone do it the other night and admin just laughed it off, I don't like spawn campers so was a bit surprised by the response. If it happens again I'll find another server. -

I bought the game today, pre-order on Steam DDE edition, hey it's my birthday soon, I needed a treat and couldn't wait :P It's very good, plays nice and smoothly but it's very hard too, managed to get some kills but will take a while to learn the maps and get used to the weapons, the ambient sounds on the battlefield are great, thoroughly enjoyed the time I've played so far. -

I was reading the RO2 forums last night and someone posted a link to a cheat site with players already asking for cheats for this game. I'll wait for the game to go up on the MSI firstly and add server IP's from there. That's nice to read though! -

The more I see the more I'm impressed, looks very tactical. The music in the background sounds great too. -
Now available for pre-order, also a deluxe edition is available: http://store.steampowered.com/app/41070/

Red Orchestra 2 and BF3, getting to be a very good year! :D
-
Judging by that list 2 types of mobile anti-air will be available, that's much better than fixed positions.
-
That does look very good I must admit, I wonder what the air defences are like for taking down those jets.
