I'd say he deserves his ban, sounds valid enough to me. Clearly he downloaded a cheat and didn't clean up after himself, then got caught.

Enforce Bans does a global job of the Accept * Bans flags, but most importantly enforces bans. Accept * Bans without Enforce Bans allows you to specifically accept different types of bans but doesn't enforce.

Tell them not to be kick happy server admins and to confirm that links are positive before acting. Feel free to quote that one.

Links can be as a result of historic IP addresses or aliases, the key is being able to read the MPi correctly. It isn't uncommon for individuals to have these links, however it does appear to be common for some individuals to misinterpret such links as being positive when they're not.

Simplest solution to this is to provide us with an email address, at your GSP, which will be able to confirm that the server is indeed hosted in a data centre and not on a residential network.

Any violation which EvenBalance has confirmed as being false has been removed from our MBi. It's possible that individual server admins may be enforcing old ban files or other anti-cheat sites may be enforcing said bans, all we can really do is continue to advise individuals to ensure their server is enforcing the latest bans. If any PBBans servers are enforcing lifted bans we may be able to nudge that team but there's not much more we can do unfortunately.

I've cleared the road for you to make a reapplication; in your comments at application be sure to put a link to the roster above. It may arise at review that activity on your site is a concern, i.e. lack of and could potentially result in a temporary denial - simple solution to this is to get your registered users posting some stuff. Also be sure to get those that haven't signed up signed up. Yeah and then got fed up of being treated like a BETA tester for a product which was inadequate for release and always seemed to have a shed load of bugs, which never got dealt with. 4.x has broken more times then a chocolate fireguard has melted. A few exploits, the time the CMS (where it wasn't installed) broke profiles and other areas of the sites, non-compatibility with older themes - general pain in the butt to theme with it's new CSS and variable methods. 3.x had my support now IPB has it but VB and IPB have always been in different leagues. Did you know vB4 is a code development of vB3? Not once has vBulletin, since it was brought out years ago, being recoded from scratch.

Personally... Paid Options If you want to put the money into it... 1) InvisionPower Board (very powerful all around - although you need to be technically in the know as support resources aren't excellent, it's improving!); 2) vBulletin (they're treating their customer base more like BETA testers with vB4.x - vB3.x was easier to work with). Free Options 1) SMF (easier to Mod, although the new version is a bit different to get your head around); 2) phpBB (very complexed permissions system and tabular control, powerful if you want to hack it apart).

This is a local ban and therefore there is nothing we can do about it, it should be restricted to that server or at most in servers that administrator runs. As far as I can see you have no violation against you issued by us or EvenBalance and therefore are clean. Personally I'd suggest playing on servers where you aren't kicked because you play better than others.
