Protip: Turn off the sound notifications of people joining/leaving/switching before you join the server, or you will go insane. Quote

Lucky_Fr4gg3r Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) I still prefer the new Mumble 1.2 (Clicky) over any other VOIP, but TS3 is a massive improvement over TS2. Playing around with all currently available codecs makes me feel the closest to the sound of a voice of a buddy I know in real life, using the lowest quality codec with a quality level of 7. TS3 looks good, but perhaps this is due to the fact it is new. Voice qualities are not improved much ... as far as I understand, there will be future codecs in the final release, probably much better in quality but higher latency though. The security system is impressive and features a much better system than earlier releases. Quote

Just reading results here and a few other forums has me convinced that Ventrilo is the way to go, as usual. Ventrilo works best for voice sound, major codec's and best connection. RW I'd have to agree, I use both, TS2 (not version 3 yet) to chat to my own clan and sometimes Vent to chat to other clans, I find Vent more user-friendly (not sure if that's the right word) but I do prefer the latter.
