denied access my key is in use somewhere else
fozzer replied to arrawn's topic in General Discussions
Disconnect from the server, restart your game and see if the problem persists. Sometimes players are too quick on the rejoin and the server thinks your already there so kicks you for cd key already in use. -
PBGUID c5ee514fa8495d36a601a87f1fc3e4 does not appear on the PBBans Master Ban Index. If you are receiving a global ban message; http://www.pbbans.com/globalban.php

A small percentage that still generates a few million dollars for relatively little outlay. There are plenty of companies that would give their right arm to be in a position like that. Instead we are being suckered by companies that dont really give a toss after the initial sale is made, at least thats what the resounding silence and lack of patches etc etc seems like to me.

What server would this be scattershot :)
-
Another saying is "alls well that ends well" :P and I bet you have learned a lot more about cod4 and PB in the process :)
-
Best of luck Rob :) Its been a struggle to get to this stage :P but I have a feeling we a drawing near to a conclusion here.

If you buy just a cd key from an online store .. based on past experience you stand a chance of buying a cd key that will produce a banned PBGUID. The best way forward is to buy a new game from a trusted retail outlet, that will, in turn, generate a shiny new PBGUID that will be unique to you.
-
Buy another copy of the game and move on. We never lift valid bans ............. ever.
-
Theater mode is just a bit of end-user eye candy to sell the game, and real time streamed data is a must for any type of anti cheat initiative. It's that simple for me :)
-
Any talk about an IP is, well to put it nicely, rubbish :P All bans issued are based on PBGUID and PBGUID alone.
-
It seems you messed up your re-install of cod4. Do a complete re-install and make sure that you are entering your new game CD key when prompted. This will, in turn, generate a new PBGUID. The PBGUID of your banned copy of the game is 9503ff6af5f26e1c171cf4d2ef3b9424 After a fresh install your new PBGUID will be totally different. You can check it in the same way you just have by; Joining a PB enabled CoD4 server. Open your console (by default the ` key) Type /pb_myguid into the console window for a full 32-digit GUID or /pb_plist for the last 8-digits of your GUID Once you get the install correct and you have established that you have a brand new PBGUID, you should be good to go.
-
I know Robs current IP and it yields no MPi data (he has a truly dynamic IP) Please follow the instructions above Rob, and post up the last 8 of your PBGUID.
-
That effectively is an end to any worthwhile discussion methinks. Black Ops is stuck with VAC and all the limitations that are bundled with it re anti cheat. The only ones who can make changes to provide some kind of real time streamed data are, Activision/Treyarch (by switching to PB) or VAC (by providing some sort of secure streamed data for server admin use) Dont hold your breath :P

/me screams Never ever give anyone your game cd key. What we are trying to establish here is what your new PBGUID is. I explained in a post on page 1 how to get your PBGUID. Here it is again; To find out what your COD4 PBGUID is, the easiest way is; Join a PB enabled CoD4 server. Open your console (by default the ` key) Type /pb_myguid into the console window for a full 32-digit GUID or /pb_plist for the last 8-digits of your GUID

We have 2 pages of beating around the bush, and to be quite honest I am nowhere near finding out what your problem is  Please provide the last 8 digits of your new PBGUID and we can assist you with whatever problem you might be experiencing.
-
So what is the beef then ? Has your new PBGUID been banned as well or are admins just taking you for a cheater because of the link to a banned PBGUID. If your new PBGUID appears to be banned please share at least the last 8 digits of it so we can take a peek. If admins can not differentiate the difference between what IP / alias raised the cheat violation and your IP alias history, we can say, right here and now, that it was not you who raised the original cheat violation, but the fact remains that the second hand game you purchased was used to cheat with before you bought it (probably the reason for the sale) and we will never lift a valid ban from our Master Ban Index, also we will never compromise the MPi integrity by altering any information on it. We do not even have a facility for altering anything. Re the diminishing PC games market; Its a hell of a lot cheaper to make a game for consoles and then port it to pc (often badly), hence the diminishing pc customer base, but small as it is, it still generates a few million dollars for a relatively small outlay. Also :) Someone else steals and you buy the goods .... its called receiving, even if the original purchase was made in good faith, as soon as you were aware the goods were not kosher, that is the time to act ... not months later :P Equate that to your experience, you say when you first installed the game you noticed you were banned off several servers. So even though you were aware that something was dodgy you still pressed on regardless, when invoking your chargeback rights would have been the correct way forward :) Last but not least, a direct quote from the COD4 manual that comes with every purchase of a new PC dvd-rom. Taken directly from the software license agreement on page 11; Theres more, but I'm sure you get the point :) The full software license agreement can be found here; click me

I have already received some true compliments when playing black ops :) to name but a few, and they were the polite ones I can remember. I wonder if I will appear on the witch hunters list at some point :scratchchin: :P What I can make out on the whole witch hunt thread (yes I did read it) A gameserver bod makes a point that VAC bans, and PB kicks, which is valid, but it would only take a flick of a switch type thing, for PB to do exactly what VAC does, to some extent PB is already doing that with the globalguid bans issued for a lot of BFBC2 cheat violations  In my opinion there is not much difference between VAC and PB as standalone products. The differences are in what comes with each product and game devs should come clean about the reasons why they choose one or the other and not spout the usual BS they are so fond of trying to blind us with. They choose VAC because of the vast infrastructure that comes along with it (steam, forums, etc etc etc) They choose PB because they realise that a lot of admins use sites like PBBans to compliment PB software and so have an instantaneous effect on cheaters (hopefully) I dont know if the cost of VAC is significantly cheaper than PB or vice versa, but I presume that game companies are a business and as such are in it for profit, whatever anti cheat solution is cheaper would obviously yield the game publisher the greater return. In a similar vein PB should be more willing to acknowledge the fact that the reason PB is held in such high regard by server admins, is because of the efforts and input from third party anti cheat sites such as PBBans, instead of going to great pains to point out that they are not affiliated to anyone at every opportunity (its ok Tony, we do not seek a share of your takings) I am fairly convinced that without this input, PB would be in a much worse state than it is at present re game publishers electing to go with VAC That in a nutshell is my personal take on the witch hunt thread as a whole.
-
I didn't know black ops had anti cheat communities ... it has VAC and thats it. Sounds like some admins are getting the Treyarch bug and want to ban for the ridiculous, because unless there is proof positive to back up a ban it becomes worthless.
-
Just re-apply mate, I have sorted out the problem and cleared the path for you.
-
Lets start at the beginning shall we :) First of all a few basics. All bans are issued on the players PBGUID A PBGUID is a 32 digit hexadecimal hash of the game cd key. Every PBGUID is unique (its like a digital fingerprint) Lets travel back in time, to December 21, 2008 A player raised a cheat violation as a direct result of running PB software. Unfortunately for him, the server was streaming to PBBans. The players Punkbuster Global Unique Identifier (PBGUID) was 9503ff6af5f26e1c171cf4d2ef3b9424 Evenbalance just kick for 2 minutes for cheat violations, what we do here is transform the 2 minute kick into a perm ban. So far so good. The player who got detected did not bother appealing the ban, instead he put his game up for sale at amazon and bought something else to cheat on. Some time later, along comes Rob and spots a bargain on amazon, COD4, dirt cheap. He installs the game, is quite alarmed to see he is banned from several servers but decides to play on, he even finds a server he likes and has some great fun. Unfortunately the server admins decide to stream via PBBans to help keep cheaters at bay, and BOOM, Rob gets banned. He does some digging and finds out about the cheating history of the PBGUID associated to the cheapo game he purchased. He thinks its not right because he was not the one who got caught cheating. He decided to appeal and raise a troubleticket with evenbalance. EB dig into their archives and deliver a verdict on wether the cheat violation was raised in error; That is the end of the time travel, we are now back to present day :) Rob decides to post up on PBBans forums, in a section of the forums thats viewable to the general public and to google, expressing how disappointed he is with punkbuster. We do not remove bans that are placed, when the original cheat violation is deemed valid by Evenbalance. Every ban on our Master Ban Index comes along with proof of cheat use. Bans are only issued on a players PBGUID, never by alias or IP. We do not force admins to enforce our banlist, its their choice. Our banlist is open for download to any concerned admin or other anti cheat sites, so you may find that your PBGUID is banned by servers that do not use PBBans services. If we accepted your argument that it was not you so lift the ban, we would also be opening the door for the original cheater. and finally, how much is COD4 these days 15 - 20 quid and it will come with a cd key all of your own, and more importantly a PBGUID all of your own. To coin a phrase of your own .. you put yourself "at the mercy of a previous cheater" by going for a cheap option rather than buy a new game of your own. Your beef is that you are still linked to the banned key, but you admit that as soon as you installed the game you were aware of a problem with a ban, yet you continued to play because you found a server that you liked. If you had elected to stop playing, and go buy a new game of your own we would not be seeing you here, and you would not be linked to the ban. or You could have used the chargeback option and got your money back for a game that obviously had a ban attached to it that the seller failed to disclose when advertising it. I suppose if No Named Brothers did not stream via PBBans we would not be seeing any complaints from you at all :scratchchin: You must have been aware of what a PBGUID is because you used it when you opened an appeal with PBBans and a troubleticket with evenbalance  You can still use the cd key that came with the cheapo game, just not on servers that stream via PBBans or GGC. To find out what your COD4 PBGUID is, the easiest way is; Join a PB enabled CoD4 server. Open your console (by default the ` key) Type /pb_myguid into the console window for a full 32-digit GUID or /pb_plist for the last 8-digits of your GUID

Your team account has been updated with the relevant details :)

A couple of issues here. The golden rule is that you have to use the rcon/query port (default 48888) to set up streaming. You then use the actual game/join port to add the server to your team account (in your case 19567) I have added the correct server address (208.167.246.239:19567) for you and the server is streaming. After I added your server I noticed that no website is attached to your team account  Do you have one ? Here is a reminder of our mandatory streaming requirements that have to be met by all teams that use our services; http://www.pbbans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=82423 You will notice that we do not accept xfire links as a replacement for a website.(xfire is whats listed in your profile) So, although you are up and running at the minute, if no website is forthcoming within 7 days that meets our mandatory streaming requirements, your team account will be deactivated untill you can meet those requirements.

pc vers plays great here. ps3 vers has fps drops / connection interuptions / system freezes ... given up on it till all the probs are ironed out.
-
The person who originally applied for a team account on behalf of your new clan was given a specific instruction to contact a certain staff member once the cheater had been completely removed from the clan. He did not follow that instruction but has since been sorted out in a private forum section. He is now clear to re-apply and go through the validation process again.
-
You always use the rcon/quey port for the setup phase and the actual game/join port to add the server to your team account. If your quite sure you have done all you can, raise a ticket with your RSP, explain your problem and let them take a look for you :)
