Thats absolute bullshit! They fed us a line of crap on Bc2 that Bc2 was not a "battlefield" game - so therefor we (the consumer) were in error to expect such "battlefield specfic" utilities. Well, this is battlefield, and DICE shows what a bunch of twit lyars they were at the time, and continue to be today. Urrgh! this really chapps my ass. Then when the guy interviewing asks him about it, all the douch can say is "we will continue to support the community with expansion packs" Asswipe even had the gall to hide behind Fb2... Worthless mouthpiece. I dont want expansion packs! I want the one utility that will allow for cheat free servers, scrims, and ladders. DICE = consistancy. Shit, at least the abortion that is Treyarch gave us a theatre mode. butt

Same here. been debating upgrading the e8400, but going to wait till at least the beta, if not post launch to decide. I get really good Bc2 graphics/gameplay now, so doubt I'll need to sink the bucks for a new mobo/cpu to have an enjoyable gaming experience for Bf3. Knock on wood. Can appreciate the "Oh look, I'm stuck in some stupid animation that has to finish before I can start shooting again!" For me, i am more worried about a return of prone, and the dolphin diving, you stabbed me in the foot, and thats worthy of a kill, BS that is sure to follow. butt

Love me some B.Ross. tap tap tap tap tap butt

While I am all for ladder/scrim play, they better have a demo (theatre at a bare minium) or it will be a dead game for competitions for us. Wont scrim w/ out one. You'd be supprised what stuff our group has run into w/ clans that did not have a demo feature available on a game w/ one. Especially in an unranked situation where people start playing w/ the server settings. No fun. butt edit: post # 420 :D

I was talking about Bc2, and it is still does not work with any consistantly. Figure if the game is being built on a revamped FB 1.5, then its going to fair to expect more Bc2 than Bf2. butt

Will be nice getting away from VAC, and back to an anticheat that I/we can actually run a background check on ppl on our servers! Flying blind w/ VAC has been for the birds. butt
-
But will VOIP work this time? What the hell does "Bf3 will be highly cybersports-oriented" mean? Wheres the "battlefield specfic" feature - demo recorder information? butt
-
Guess it all depends on their motivation. If they are cutting back on the building destruction side of things so they can make doing a demo feature less taxing on the file size and complexity - then ok. Hate to keep beating the same drum, but its almost mid July, and we still know amazing little about what this game will and will not have. So far it is shaping up just like Bc2. Fantastic artwork on the front end, list of exclusions on the back end. Hope I am wrong  butt

GGC will accept demos from 2142 (if you stream to them prior to demo being recorded) http://board.ggc-stream.com/forumdisplay.php/50-English-forum butt

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad
buttscratcher replied to buttscratcher's topic in Gamers Sanctuary
I can appreciate that perspective. But on the flipside of that coin, why spend the $ for a new title, when its a rehashed look/features? Iam sure the limited "nitch" fanbase wont mind... But I'd predict they wont pick up much crossover/new players, with little to no pizzaz. butt -

I understand its a cam and not the best way to view the video to make a proper judgement, but its not really doing much for me at all. Looks like painfully "old" technology. butt -
PunkBuster coming to Red Orchestra 2: Heroes Of Stalingrad
buttscratcher replied to MaydaX's topic in Announcements
Back on topic, I'd be curious if there was any hope in TW helping EvenBallance do what Steam did w/ ingame SS - as it relates to the ongoing issue w/ pb_ss failure? tia butt -
PunkBuster coming to Red Orchestra 2: Heroes Of Stalingrad
buttscratcher replied to MaydaX's topic in Announcements
I stopped reading after the fourth paragraph. Too much bla bla bla - in the wrong thread. Plenty of other threads for choice of AC discussion. Agree w/ surfy, this topic is yay TW - not A vs B. If you want to kick the Vac vs EB ball around, use the seach feature - and I'd bet there are several threads available we could pick this up in. butt -
Having delt w/ Blops serverside, any complaint about modtools will be taken w/ a grain of salt. Anyone expecting modtools before Activision made all they can on Blops DLC was high. Now that the game is petering out, modders get thier tools. Unfortunatly, theres not a ton of ppl still playing to enjoy the mods. Irony, or a well thought out plan from the start? Next time we hear a PR guy spouting "PC community" on a no lube port, we should all know what to expect. butt

For anyone that may be into it, the mod tools beta is now available via Steam.

PunkBuster coming to Red Orchestra 2: Heroes Of Stalingrad
buttscratcher replied to MaydaX's topic in Announcements
wow! Never saw this coming... Fantastic news for tw fans. + features deserving of a PC game. To me, having run my first VAC server w/ Blops, I'd hope to say both Eb & VAC are equally 'effective'. With both, I ended up w/ hacks on my server. At least w/ PB, I can check a player through Pbbans. Guess sometimes ya got to try something new to appreciate what you have. Now, if they could only fix the effing screenshots! :P butt darwin > IC -
That bad eh? But I am a sucker for the $5 bin B) aka --> cheap bastard. Sorry to hear you got a stinker. Really blows to go through that, for what they are asking for games these days. Guess w/ the problems Crysis had, and now this, one could expect the crysis franchise to be put to bed... But they'll probably wait 3-4 years to get a new group of unsuspecting consumers into the market, and pull the flimflam on em. butt
-
Let me know when its in the walmart bargin bin, and I'll pick it up for single player. The vid was a yawn fest. But whatever... Different strokes for different folks I suppose. butt
-
Think you should be fine. I asked the same question about the G15 many moons ago, and was told it wouldn't be a problem. butt

Sad but true. Hate to be a hater, but they set their own track record w/ Bc2. +1 for the laugh. In all sincerity, I do hope they hit a home run w/ Bf3. Would like to start to see some actual details on what the game will have/wont have... I mean is this a true "BattleField" title, or a Bc2 reboot - w/ a few Bf2 maps thrown in to make us feel better? What would be real nice of DICE, would be to throw us guys/gals that supported the ongoing Bf3 beta *coughBc2cough* a bone, and turn us loose on the (oh my god I hope they're having one) closed beta. butt
-
A+ for "wow factor" / e-candy F- for beta one month before release. butt
-
Think thats what we are all worried about. Least those of us that plunked down $60 for Bc2 + server fees for months on end. We've been down this road before. "Cool" marketing vids, and a turd that fell flat on release. butt
-
Iam just hoping they can come up with a working ingame VOIP... Fella can dream right? "featuring powerful social tools, feeds and detailed player stats. Battlelog also lets you manage your friends lists, squad up, create platoons, use voice chat and follow your friends' progress in real-time, and more." Nice to see DICE has their priorities in line. Can't wait to hear about how this or that couldn't be included due to the "lack of manpower" they like to fall back on. butt
-
It would be a deal breaker for me. Take away the current server/player control and I'd be done. We all know the drag of pubbing w/ foul mouth pubbers, hackers, campers, ect... When the day comes that online gaming goes to subscription, where we don't rent/control our servers - all this will be over for many of us. Paying $60 a pop for buggy unfinished games is insulting enough. Putting the squeeze on us to play said game online, would eventually cook the golden goose. butt
-
Ahhh. Didn't know that, Even more reason to question the motivation of why EvenBallance can't or wont fix their utility. Their "known issue/we're working on it" response never sat well with me. Now that its been proven possible, what other lamer excuse will be next? butt
