not when the game first dropped

 

you had no control other than starting/stopping the server, for the most part

 

hell finding and getting in your own server was a PITA to begin with

:P i want my dedicated servers but either way im buying the game no matter what they do with it. I play MW2 everyday and love the game it has its got its down side but the main thing i care about is having fun.

There are dedicated server files but all servers only through gameservers.com only

 

"Public" server files, in the sense we were told, applies to the fact there is nothing like IW.net this time around

 

Ranking is server side apparently, not stored client-side

 

There will be RCON tool and mod/map tools. Mod tools after release

 

DRM is Steamworks, Anti-cheat is VAC

 

Spectator and demo recording is included

The dev's themselves did not confirm Steam and/or VAC, only others. But, if it is confirmed with those by the dev's, then there will be no support from us. At least as of now.

 

BTW, I may still get the game even though it could have steam and vac.

 

Evenbalance better get the ball rolling somehow and get more contracts or they may be in the unemployment line soon. It looks like future activision games are going to be all VAC and Steam exclusive.

Was only real 32 which was officially supported, but 18 is definitely far less.

The 18 player limit is a clue that the maps will be SMALL! Another console port over, they probably didnt even want to have dedi servers, but came up with this plan after the last mess.
