Battlefield 3

The alpha didn't run smooth for me either. The fps was fine capped at 60. I have a I7 and a 570gtx. I didn't play the alpha that much because of micro-stutter. I tried different drivers no luck. At least different providers will be running the beta so I can check them out. Metro again? Sigh.

@IndianScout,

Would you mind sharing your modded .ini file? Would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

It was not a ini that could easily be edited. I was able to tweak it because it was not packaged by DICE properly which ment there was a lot of areas saved in plain text and could be edited using a hex editor. That file would be useless now.

Speaking to the German Battlefield 3 community, he commented on the state of mod tools in the game and whether we would be seeing them at some point. Matros shared that mod tools are still being heavily considered for Battlefield 3, however he still couldn't go into any detail regarding whether or not they would make an appearance. He also mentioned that there will be no time or weather changes during multiplayer games and that you will be able to form squads with friends during the beta.

Bah, sick of static maps. Simple lighting changes can really give a different feeling to a map. Even the light source direction makes a difference.

Doesn't have to be done in real time, maybe it could be randomized when the round starts.

I think it would be cool to have a battle in the dawn/dusk hours

Yeah, saw that when it came up on Facebook...and it got a retty mixed reaction.

And by mixed I mean all the PS3 ppl wet there pants cuz they coiuldn't cry enough tears of happiness, all the xbox ppl got mad because PS3 came out on top of them for a change and the PC crowd felt screwed over once again (the general impression being that DICE had turned its bacK on its core BF market again).

84% of PC Gamers Will Want To Upgrade For Battlefield 3

Today is a not-so-glorious day for the PC Gaming master race.

It's no secret that Battlefield 3 will take a serious gaming rig to take full advantage of on PC, but a new study released by Valve and Nvidia shows that a serious percentage of PC gamers will need to upgrade in order to do it:

Nvidia has told us that EA and DICE "may" lower the recommended specs, in which case you may be in the green, so stay tuned.

EA has added a clause to its Origin EULA which would keep users from bringing a class-action suit against the firm. The updated terms-of-service agreement, once accepted by the participant foregoes the right to sue and have a jury trial, allowing only individual cases to be brought against it. Like Sony

Duh, i just want to play the game...not go through a law study to understand all those EULAs,RoEs,ToS and whatever.

Do i have to be concerned by this news?! :scratchchin:

...gaming has become so complicated sometimes, too many big "players" i guess.

I'm disappointed they deem K/D ratio more important than ping on the scoreboard.
