Servers no longer appearing in server mgmt
RoadWarrior replied to (TKC)-T3's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
You'll also likely have to update the streaming initiatives, simplest method is using the automated setup tool on the homepage. The ucon profile has changed since the move. RW -
Try turning x-fire off. It's been known to cause a variety of issues. Other potential issues as well, could be programs like Ventrilo or TeamSpeak, especially if you use the over-lay function, EVGA Precision Tool has been known to cause some issues with the latest version. Bottom line, other than the game itself, turn off all other third-party apps and see if you're still getting kicked. Then add one third-party app at a time, to see which one is causing the kick, to eliminate the source of your problems. RW

Yup, I was editing my post as you were posting. :)

Since you're not yet on the master ban list here, or other AC sites, you've got yourself one option, as PB only kicks for the offence. Format your computer, and do a completely fresh install of Windows. Update all drivers to the latest versions, and re-install the game. Make sure you've got a good anti-virus program and firewall in place, as well as malware protection. You say you didn't install any cheats, that's fine. Something ended up on your computer related to a cheat, by you, or by someone else, or possibly just poor security of your computer on your end. Regardless, the file is now there, causing the detection. Format/clean install is the best way to rid yourself of it, as such files tend to be pretty deeply rooted into various areas of your registry, etc. Pending that doesn't work for you, you'll have to file a Trouble Ticket with evenbalance themselves, as the detection is theirs. Additional notes. Your GUID shows as globally banned by EvenBalance in the MPi. Above trouble-ticket link will be a must, now. Be polite in it, and provide them with as much information as you can. Things like hardware installed in your computer, operating system, anti-virus program, any third-party apps running at the time(things like x-fire, fraps, evga precision tool, etc). Then just be patient. If you keep replying to your TT before they respond, it bumps your ticket down to the bottom of the list, and as such, takes longer to get a reply. Replies can take a couple of weeks, so again, patience is a virtue. RW

What operating system are you using? If it's Windows 7, it's not officially supported by punkbuster/EvenBalance until the release date later this month. You could try backward compatibility mode for XP SP1 as a possible solution, how-ever. RW

Are you running this server on your home computer? The file is meant for the pb folder on the server itself. RW

I created a generic one with various useful pb settings, as well as the setting you require. Just a download away. :) RW pbsv.cfg

That's some player typing something into the game-chat only. Lots of goofy players out there that like to raise red-flags by typing silly things like that into the game-chat, and most likely harmless. Either way, we could not and would not ban for that here, as it's not proof of anything. If you want, how-ever, you can add his guid to your local ban-list on your server.

Streaming denyed?
RoadWarrior replied to weciphaahr's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
You would require your own dedicated IP's, not shared by other clans, in order to stream. RW -
Socket Connection Failed

Download Java and install it, then restart your browser and try again. RW -
server's not straming
RoadWarrior replied to shulze's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
You may then have to put a ticket in with your host, regarding the matter. You need to have read/write access to the pb folder itself for the pbsv.cfg file only. Once streaming is initiated, you need the ability to upload the pbsvuser.cfg file to the server's pb folder, or may need them to do it for you. They should be able to accomplish this. If not, perhaps aim the one in charge of your ticket over to this forum, and have him register here, and we can talk with him a bit about the situation. Other GSP's here work with us, and it's a fairly easy feat to accomplish in the end. RW -
Glad you're up and running, then, friend. :) RW

B is started by A, so you may have to minimize the game upon first connecting to a server, and check to make sure that it is being allowed through. F-Secure from personal experience, is perhaps one of the worst anti-virus programs I've come accross, though, as it finds a lot of virii in programs that are perfectly clean, it's security issues are well past what they should be with the wrong things. It won't find the virii that are needed to be stopped, how-ever. If I may make a recomendation, for a very good free to home users anti-virus. Check this Avast out. It's free(requires a legit e-mail for activation code) and is very light on system resources. I've been using it for the past several years now, and just love it. Works on 64x platforms as well. :) In all honesty, the only firewall I use, these days, is the one that comes with Windows itself, and I don't bother with third-party software anymore, been fine for years, but that may depend on your personal habits, as well, so entirely up to you. Biggest issue is to not click on links in random chat programs, unless you know them to be safe. Secondly, updating PB itself, you might have a simple bad install(it can happen for various reasons). Download PBSetup.exe from here(click the blue). Now, simply create a folder on your desktop named pb(lower-case), and put the file into it. Now run it, add all your pb-enabled games via it's configurations, and run it, to update all your games from one easy to access folder. It will download all the files for you. If you're still having issues, go into your game's install directory, generally C:/windows/program files or program filesx86(64-bit)/Activision(for COD4), and find the pb folder for your game. Right-click and re-name it to pb_old, then create a new folder named pb. Run the pbsetup.exe again from your desktop folder, and create from scratch, only the latest pb files. Hope this helps ya out. What operating system are you running on your computer? With Vista, you need to run the game as administrator. Simply right-click the game's icon, and select properties, then the compatibility tab, and put a check in the "always run as administrator" box, click apply and ok. For Windows 7, repeat the above process, but also select run in compatibility mode for Vista SP1. You'll also need to allow PnkBstrA and B to be able to connect through your firewall software, and that will depend on what firewall program you run, they simply need to be in your allowed to connect list. This last one, it's irrelevant to the operating system, it just applies to the firewall you use. Hope that helps. RW

You could sign up for our streaming services, which are free of charge(donations appreciated) by starting with This Link and getting your servers to stream. Take the time to read the ToS please, and by all means, if you have any questions feel free to ask. You'll find your servers are much more secure from cheaters by using the streaming services we provide here. Then, players like those you've posted about, if detected, will be automatically banned from your servers, and not allowed to play on any other streaming servers either. RW

There'll always be different tastes. I love TDM, don't really like HC mode, but that's just me. I'm still gonna go jump on later and help give this baby a test-drive. UrGonnaDie has a 46(or is it 48 slot?) TDM HC server, and everytime I've been on it it's just mayhem and chaos.....lol. It's not for everyone, but if you approach it with the idea of having fun, there's plenty of good times to go around. RW

Server 2008 + PBUCON?
RoadWarrior replied to Kinsman's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
I'm going to assume that you've read the How-To at the evenbalance website, so I won't quote anything from there, but linked to it as an in-case. Pending that you have, and have tried everything, perhaps submitting a Support Ticket with them, explaining your issues, would help them and you, as well. TT's with them are not just for cheaters, but for all people who have trouble with the punkbuster software, both players and GSP's alike. Hopefully someone else here has also had and solved the problem, and can post a solution, but your answers may well lie with evenbalance themselves. RW -
Just let accounts staff verify it, and be patient. Nothing else. ;) RW

You might be interested in setting up XML feeds. Then other web-site admin could simply subscribe and link that way. RW

Are you looking to put up scrolling messages? If so, perhaps read This Thread. Hope that is helpful. RW

Holy thread revival!   :punch:

Open your game, connect to any pb-enabled server and simply open your game's console. Your GUID will be written on the screen in light blue. You just need to copy the last 8 characters of it for us. RW

It was cracked under the game Call of Duty 4, but only dates back to July 10/09. I've done a few checks, and at this time, have released the IP from the black-list. RW

How long ago did you rent this server? Secondly, was it previously run by the same clan?

A simple google for BF2 1.5 patch links net me several pages of alternate download sites. Perhaps this link Click Me! would be one of the more helpful ones, as it compiles a list of known download mirrors. RW
