Problem finding a post
RoadWarrior replied to m00f's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
Dual-streaming is possible, even to GV. GV uses pbucon, so you'd simply have to add the needed uconadd line with their IP to your list in your pbsv.cfg file, and increase your usessionlimit by 1 to make this possible. -
streaming my server

If you have a paid-for site, they usually have an allowance for clan-email setup, or you can use the e-mail address provided by your ISP. Free e-mails will not be accepted here. As for getting your forums active, that takes you and your clan doing so. Can't help you with the post-count, but you and your guys can make that happen. -
My pbbans account is banned

http://www.anarchic-x.com/cod4master/cod4_server_audit.php Error contacting server, is it online? From the above link. -
Prolly a good thing you can't get North American vehicles in the UK easily..... Would likely break a few limits regardless of where you are. Used to love it when I got a late-night bar-close call as a cabbie, and one of the brit-army trainee's asked me how fast I could get him back to camp, for row-call. 35 km's, mountain roads, all I asked was that he buckled up, and didn't toss his cookies. Last one I took up that hill got there in less than 8 minutes. He asked. Next time I saw him, he didn't ask, he also didn't leave quite so late. ;)

Have you reported the problem to your AV provider? They likely have a support e-mail address, and if you want it to get fixed quicker, simply make them aware of the situation and a link to evenbalance and let the AV company provide the fix for it.

You might also want to consider changing your rcon password so that this player does not have the ability to ban anyone.

Avast is free, and works very well. I've been using it now for about 3 yrs.

Have you tried "right click and select run as administrator"? for Windows 7? Second issue, with Vista alone, I had to do this for BF2, and then also set the game into compatibilty mode for XP, as Vista and newer do not support certain older games.

Are your servers awaiting approval? If so, be patient, and an account manager will get to you shortly. Your name will appear in green once the update is done, and everything has been checked over.

They got the masturbating part right......

Clan donations help. If you don't need a dedicated box, and only one server, or two, they can be had cheap enough, with a known GSP, such as Gameservers or MyInternetServices, just to name a couple. Both offer reasonable rates per-slot, depending on your location. Here's the bad news for you. Hosting a gaming server off your home-connection rarely affords enough band-width to allow more than a few players to connect, including you. Most home-connections will die after about 10 players connect, and pings will hit the roof. It's not your download speed that matters, it's your upload speed, as that's what a server requires. You can't get away with a 500MB upload speed, or even a 1GB upload speed. You need a lot more than that, and need to peered into main gate-ways for the internet, such as Internap, Savvis, and so on, to attain any sort of use-ability with a server. There's the reason people co-locate, or host servers in a known DC, along with that minor little detail of, unlimited band-width, with a provider(read the fine-print) is generally limited to a certain amount they "assume" you will not use. Hosting a server will cost you more, hosting it at home, if you get it to be even reasonably busy, as a result of it. Hosting it with a known GSP, will make things easier, and will provide you with what you want from us, at PBBans. There's the facts. Thread closed. Do not open another topic related to this issue, either get it sorted properly, or attempt to stream elsewhere. -

I stream my servers, I also pay for them every month, in a dedicated DC. I also donate to the PBBans account, to keep this place running, and DONATE my time, to offer support. This is a non-profit anti-cheat site. None of the staff are paid. We also all pay for the servers we run, as do the clans that stream to us. I do NOT appologize for that, btw, just point it out, as it's a fact. You can join the club, or do without. End of list. -

It's for security reasons, on our end. Part of our ToS, or Terms of Service, should you take a minute to read through them. Your server can appear to have multiple players on it, all with the same IP at the same time, as a result of being behind the same router. It does not have a dedicated connection of it's own, to the internet. It shares your home connection. These are our rules, and we're not bending. Your call on how you want this to work, but ultimately, until it has a co-located DC location that you can verify with us, it will not be allowed to stream. No exceptions. Many have tried before, lots of similar threads on our forums. All end up in the same place. Denied, until our ToS is met. -

A dedicated server has to be located at a known Data-Center, not in your basement. The reason for this is that your server has been found on the MPI, here, or master-player-index. There is no reason why a dedicated gaming server should ever be found playing a game. As such, until you choose to co-locate it with a known DC, and it does not show on the MPI, you will not be allowed to use our services. If you choose to co-locate it at a known DC, you can feel free to re-apply for our services. I hope that is a clear enough explanation. -

Do a little reading on the game at www.evenbalance.com Player-side options and admin-side options might enlighten you a bit. One word of advice, as someone who still plays that old game sometimes, do not, ever, trust downloaded configs for any reason. Over the years, and I've played it since it's inception in 2002, I have looked at configs, tested some settings, anything questionable, I've never included. I learned a lot more, coming here, and becoming a streaming member. Thankfully, I was wary enough to never attempt to use something that had a cheat-related cvar in it. Working as staff, I can tell you, you will get banned sure and simple, if caught.

Click Me! Click the above link, and then follow the guide to getting your very own streaming account set up. If you need more help, please feel free to ask.

I haven't had a server for this since the first 30 days of it were over. ;) I switched mine over to COD4.

What IP and what game? More info will likely speed this up a bit.

An airdale-ops ban is their issue. Perhaps the only thing not said here, thus far. You'll have to appeal your ban with them. If it were a PBBans-related ban, we would deal with it. Other privately-run anti-cheat groups deal with their own, as it should be done. http://www.airdaleops.com/ for more information.

Campaigns generally have a limitation of 10 maps. Objectivecyle doesn't. There's a know bug in ET referred to as the pk3-count bug. For some reason campaigns suffer most from this, although I've seen issues with various mods where just one to many pk3 files in the etmain folder can cause the server to crash. General rule of thumb, 10 map pk3 files in the etmain is about the limit. This includes the stock pk3 files that contain the stock maps. While not set in stone, as there are other maps that work, using Oasis or Radar as campaign starters and Fueldump or Goldrush as campaign enders works really well. By default, these maps are known "starting" and "ending" maps.
-
That would technically be the effect, yes. Campaigns will work, but they seem so unneccesary with pub mods. One of the issues you're likely running into above, is that not all maps work as starting maps or ending maps for campaigns. You generally have to test them to see if they will work. "Just for another irritating annoyance, a few custom maps aren't really 100% compatible with campaigns at all, and some maps (including officials) dont work properly at the start or end of campaigns... It's not hard to quickly check though, simply load ET and select to host server, selecting campaign mode and then the map you're thinking of starting off with - you will get a message if the map isnt setup to start a campaign. Radar and Oasis are both safe maps to start off campaigns, while Goldrush and Fueldump are safe for ending campaigns on." I snipped that quote from This Site which is a well written resource on ET, and I've personally referred to it many times when setting up an ET server.
-
Why bother with campaign on noquarter? Just use the objectivecycle, which is much easier to work with, and requires no custom campaign pk3 files. Campaigns were more of a work-around to make etpro mod have a version of xp-save, where that option is native in the pub-style mods like noquarter.

I want to add my thanks to all who have donated as well. You guys and gals are the ones who make PBBans what it is, and make our time as staff worth every second. If I were to sum it up very briefly, being staff at PBBans, regardless of what capacity, has been and is a very worth-while thing to devote a portion of my time to every day. As others have stated, this isn't a paid job. We put a portion of our spare time into it, as we can. The donations cover the cost of such hardware issues, as well as other operating costs involved, and it's always amazed me as to how willing you all are to step up in a time of need. Thanks again. :)
