  1. I ended up with this one myself today. Took a simple reboot of the game and everything was fine. Not sure what causes it, though.
  2. Have you opened a trouble ticket with evenbalance? Not sure what to say here, other than offer the advice of not loading up any un-neccessary programs when booting, and keep things limited to av, firewall, and make sure both allow pnkbstrA and b to run, both are .exe files. Make sure you update your pb as well, for the game. I personally run a COD4 server, and have not run into such an issue, server and local client files are up to date, on my end. You may need to update your server manually, via the evenbalance update links and instructions, and I would start there, as a test. Could just be your server is out of whack, for what-ever reason.
  3. Open console, try /cl_maxpackets 100 as a command.
  4. Server IP and port? Game?
  5. Might want to consider letting your clan-mate go free, not letting him attach him to yourself in any way. If you buy a new key, you may remain attached via IP, and connected GUID's. Up to you, you can give it a shot, though.
  6. Default is 60, max on streaming servers is 80 before it will kick you. Much more than that just makes your screen look "round" and warped anyways.
  7. From rcon, if your game provides feedback in the console, simply type in pb_sv_uconlist. Feedback should be as follows. ^5PunkBuster Server: [slot] [Type] [Mask] [Name] ^5PunkBuster Server: 1 1 64.27.21.46 pbbanshub ^5PunkBuster Server: End of PB UCON Profile List (1 Entry) I personally can attain this feedback in HLSW for my COD4/5 servers. It did work for ET as well, when my clan still had a server for that game. I do know that the BF-series games do not provide feedback from PB in the console, so you BF-admins will either have to check via the PBBans homepage, or login to our IRC channel and use the !stream IP:Port command. Or use server greetings from your AccCP so that when you login to your server as a player, the greeting will indicate to you that the hub is live on your server.
  8. It is not always a desireable setting for servers, depending on what you run, and how you want it run. I personally run a 3 second respawn time, with push F to spawn on my soft-core 20 slot server, and many like that setting. It becomes about personal choice. I don't mind scrolling for demo's, btw. As AcE said. Hardly pinnable material.
  9. Reporting the post sends a message to ALL STAFF here! The Report Post feature is not meant to elevate your thread in any way. It is meant to be used if someone posts a cheat-site link, or other undesireable in a thread, so that it can be removed quickly. You did not do yourself any favors by hitting that little button.
  10. Should be the same as Vista. Simply head into your game's install folder, and save the players folder to a floppy, thumb-drive, your cell-phone, or what-ever medium of back-up you so desire. Then replace it once you've formatted.
  11. When opening the ticket, make sure to include as much information as possible. Things like Operating system, Antivirus program, Driver revisions, Hardware installed, any over-clocking utilities running at the time, Any programs running at the time. Vent, TS, (using overlay?) ETC. Also, please remember to be polite. The gents over at EvenBalance see literally hundreds of tickets a day. Many of them are players demanding results, and not giving them anything to work with, some tend to edge into the realm of being crass, or condescending. Being polite, and providing as much information as you can possibly think of, regardless of how minor a detail it might seem at the time, will help them trouble-shoot the situation, and attain a positive result sooner.
  12. A complete format of your computer would be recommended, as some of those keyloggers and other viri can be pretty hard to remove completely. Before installing a new game, I'd recommend this to ensure your new key is not stolen. If you do not have a good antivirus program, Avast is free.
  13. Might want to take a minute to read Gameservers ToS as well as the one here at PBBans. You're rather lucky you were caught here first, as Gameservers would have simply cancelled your account, and not provided a refund. They've got a pretty strict policy regarding adding non-stock binaries to their rented servers.
  14. It means your pb-client is having communication difficulties with the server, related to the pb software in particular. Since you're new to the game, you're likely running a stock config. Open your console and enter /cl_maxpackets 100 (default setting is 30, dial-up relic) to get a bit better connection to servers, will likely help to some degree with your issue. Mostly, though, this has to do with your internet connection. If you're playing on a wireless router, try hard-wiring your computer to it, or at least moving closer to the router itself.
  15. Furthermore, the black-ss issue can be contributed to the vastly different computer-build configurations out there. Everything from motherboard/chipset to video cards, and various other pieces of hardware and related drivers that may all combine to cause the issue, not just the operating system being used. I don't believe any anti-cheat organization would have the resources to be able to test the entire pool of potential hardware/os/driver combinations out there in the world to be able to narrow things down to such a fine point that it works for everyone. As computers become more complex, and games do as well, there are bound to be issues with some things. PBSS are an additional feature provided by EB, but they do not ban for them, themselves. That is a feature offered by private anti-cheat groups such as PBBans and various others. Black screenshots will always be considered inconclusive, at best. Benefit of the doubt goes to the player.
  16. You need to be streaming to us. Terms Of Service Getting Started
  17. I'd say the venom, since it increases the entities on the server. Rule of thumb, with NQ, is that a lot of server admin tend to "over do it" a tad bit by turning on all the "toys". A lot of issues go away with removal of such things as the venom, to many med/ammo packs being dropped on death, to many weapons left lying around for to long, etc. Not necessarily related to the above kick-issue, but you'll definitely notice less server lag.
  18. First off, you'd have to be a Streaming Game Admin, or SGA, here. Meaning you need to either be listed on your clan's SGA list, or be streaming a server to us yourself. Only games that have an in-game demo recording feature, such as ET, RTCW, the COD-series, etc may have demo's submitted for them.
  19. It does not show up in COD, COD2, COD4, COD:WaW, etc, on that site. I checked. It also does not show up in HLSW as anything, the server simply does not exist. You can't stream a home server here, let alone one run off your local PC. It has to be run from a dedicated server IP you rent from a GSP, or a dedicated box hosted by either a GSP, or co-location server facility.
  20. Host your server with a known GSP, or co-locate your server box at a dedicated data center.
  21. If a "server IP" appears in the MPI we simply will not allow it to stream. There is no legitimate reason why a gameserver should ever be playing the game it's hosting.
  22. This may sound like a silly suggestion, but if you have onboard sound, try plugging something into the microphone jack. The issue pertains to one of the more common onboard sound chips, namely the RealTek chip. Even a pair of headphones, if you don't have a mic. This fixed some issues with COD4 crashing to desktop for some users as a result of the onboard chip's driver incompatibility. Also, I run 64x Vista Ultimate, and have both games installed and they run perfectly without backward compatibility mode. The only thing I changed in the compatibility options was to set them to automatically run as administrator so that I could skip the right-click and select issue all the time. I'll be around more Tuesday, got one more shift at work to complete Monday evening(CST North American time) and then maybe we can jump on IRC or such and get to the root of it.
  23. I get that issue from time to time. XP doesn't seem to like some of the newer files created by newer operating systems. Not sure why, tbh, other than perhaps there might be a slight change in the way NTSF works with Vista and Windows7.
  24. Usually a high ping will just end up in a communication error with the pb servers.
  25. What kind of freeze/lock-up? Temporary? Makes the game look like you're walking backwards and then suddenly you can play again? Do you have x-fire running in the background? What's your ping to the servers you're playing on? Are you using a wireless connection to a router? Are there any PB errors popping up when this occurs?
