Failed to resolve etguidauth.evenbalance.com
RoadWarrior replied to gingerjack's topic in Enemy Territory
You're trying to generate a new etkey. Is this a new install of the game? If so, here are a couple of possible work-arounds. I've personally had this issue come up myself with the game, but only once, and it's been a while. -Type in the console /pb_cdkeyreg by hitting the ~ button, and then use the command. - open the file "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" in notepad - add "192.246.40.62 etguidauth.evenbalance.com" - save the file - next delete the file "pbns.dat" from the C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\pb folder - double click pbweb.exe located in the same folder - connect to an ET/TC:E server, check the console for punkbuster relatet errors - play the game. Last option. Re-name your current pb folder to pb_old, create a new pb folder(lower case) then run pbsetup.exe from within it, and create all new pb files, rather than over-writing the old ones. -
Barack Obama's Former Chrysler 300C Is Maxed Out On Ebay
RoadWarrior replied to SuperTaz's topic in Off Topic
The car probably has a blue-book price of 5-8 grand USD. I'll give it 20 on a real out-side chance. Can you say "someone has to much money to spend?" -
We do try our best to answer all questions, SGA or other-wise. Sometimes a simple answer to a question, and a bit more communication, and we gain yet another SGA in our ranks, and a new server is streaming. That never hurts. ;) skunkcap, you may want to check out the services we offer by clicking our homepage. Take a few minutes to read our Terms of Service first, and then read up on how to stream. Feel free to do more than apply for a forum account, here, as you will find a whole new world into support for anti-cheat, and information available to you. Just bear with us as we get some issues on our end sorted, and if you apply, please be patient for streaming to become active. :)

Yup, when EA decides to fix their broken game, there is some small hope the commander hack will be laid to rest, at least for a short time. This hack has more to do with poor coding on EA's side of things than it will ever have to do with EvenBalance or private anti-cheat sites.

PunkBuster coming to Call of Duty World at War

Holy thread revival! -
Beta o/s will have a lot of it's own bugs, and while I'm sure evenbalance is keeping an eye on it, is it really worth their time to make adjustments for pb for what would likely represent less than 1% of gamers? Or should they put their time into supporting the current released versions of operating systems, so that the other 99% get good support. If you want to test a beta o/s, try running dual-boot and play your games from a released version.

It's currently up and live on a backup hard drive, hopefully this will hold up until the replacement drive can be shipped to the dc and be installed.

This is a fix only. Another issue to make mention of, is to leave your MD5 and/or cvar checks in place on your servers. Even though streaming is not currently active, these checks are run by your server anyways, and will at least issue a kick to players caught with them. Some protection is better than none. ;)
-
If you are streaming to us, you'd have access to a fair bit more about how we work. No private information is given to non-streaming members. Would suggest you get your server streaming, or have your main admin add you to his SGA list.

Stats-padding isn't cheating, but if a given clan wants to ban 'padders, that is their choice. My recommendation, simply get on with the day and go find another server to play on.

Click Me! The aliens keep working their way into pb-enabled games with these darned crop circles all the time. ;)

Be sure to start the game first, join a pb-enabled server, and then alt+tab out. A starts B, B does not load by default, thus will not show in the list of services running until it has a reason to start.

Streaming Causes Our Server to Crash
RoadWarrior replied to Ryan4Katie2005's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
PB_SV_Sleep [Period] Holds the period of time (milliseconds) that the PunkBuster Server "sleeps" between processing cycles; lower numbers will cause PunkBuster to process more times each second which also may have the effect of marginally increasing the bandwidth used by PunkBuster Could possibly try this as an option. Not sure what the default is in BF2142. I use the default 60 seconds on COD4, and ET and it works just fine. -
game and GUID would be appreciated to make this easy for us. Likely you have either not met or have broken a part of our ToS, on the main page, and link also at the top of this forum. Also check your private messages, as you may have been sent a message by an admin/staff member here as to why this has happenned.

PB_SV_ProtectName [unique ID] [Registered Name] Protects the specified PunkBuster Registered Name on the local server so that players who wear the protected name without having the correct Registration Credentials will be removed from the server PB_SV_ProtectTag [unique ID] [Registered Tag] Protects the specified PunkBuster Registered Tag on the local server so that players who wear the protected tag without having the correct Registration Credentials will be removed from the server These are GUID-based, unless I'm mistaken, you might need to add your whole name to the list. Something I've never used, personally. Others will correct me if I am wrong here.

Can a player not be skilled anymore?
RoadWarrior replied to xX_Renegade_Xx's topic in General Discussions
Hackusations will roll freely, at times, on any server. What I tell those on my own servers, is that we already stream here, and that we're well protected. Anything suspicious, by all means, take a demo, and send it to me. Only works for some games, but if I had a nickle for everytime someone sent me a demo for COD4 from my own server, just to prove them wrong, I'd prolly be able to retire rich right now. There's a difference between getting owned by someone, or them being a cheater. I wouldn't worry about the comments to much. If you're finding it's an issue in the current game you play, perhaps it's time to move on to a new game instead, and test new waters. Just a suggestion. -
Streaming Causes Our Server to Crash
RoadWarrior replied to Ryan4Katie2005's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
Streaming in itself does not cause lag. Usually, lag can be attributed to poor configuration of the server, or perhaps having to many screenshot requests within to little time, how-ever. Do you also stream to other anti-cheat organizations? Below are the settings I use for ss on my cod4 servers with no noticeable lag at all. If you decrease the time between shots, or increase the size of the shot being taken, you will sometimes notice a short period of time where players "lock up" and can't move. ; ------------------------------ ; PBSS Settings ; ------------------------------ pb_sv_AutoSs 1 //[0=No, 1=Yes (default=0)] pb_sv_SsFloor 1 //[Low screenshot filename serial #] pb_sv_SsCeiling 1000 //[High screenshot filename serial #] pb_sv_AutoSsFrom 300 //[Min # of seconds to wait before requesting next ss] pb_sv_AutoSsTo 1200 //[Max # of seconds to wait before requesting next ss] pb_sv_SsCmd "" //[Filename of system command to run after screenshots] pb_sv_SsWidth 400 //[Requested pixel width of remote screenshots] pb_sv_SsHeight 204 //[Requested pixel height of remote screenshots] pb_sv_SsXpct 50 //[Percentage across screen for remote screenshots] pb_sv_SsYpct 50 //[Percentage down screen for remote screenshots] pb_sv_SsSrate 1 //[sample Rate for remote screenshots] pb_sv_SsDelay 20 //[Maximum delay client waits before capturing screenshot] pb_sv_SsPath "" //[Path where remote screenshots are saved] pb_sv_ssLogging 3 //[1=Reg. Log, 2=SS Log, 3=Both, 0=Neither] pb_sv_ssTimeout 300 //[seconds] -
Server Banned ? Please Help
RoadWarrior replied to ES-Phoenix's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
You have a few choices. One, find a GSP or DC that will co-locate(host) your box, or two, rent a server from a know GSP. They're not that terribly expensive these days. Either one would see you streaming in no time. -
Did you load the htm files to the htm folder within the pb folder? The pbsecsv.htm is the only .htm file that goes in the main pb folder. The other 6 .htm files go in the htm folder. You also need the pbsvnew.so file in the main pb folder. The either issue a pb_sv_restart command, or reboot the server. Server admins need all the htm files as well as the other two listed.

Added server, but not streaming?
RoadWarrior replied to 8amoreno's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
Have you completed the streaming application on the homepage? It's seperate from the forum account application. Click Me! Then use the handy Automated Hub Setup Tool Be sure to choose the right game from the drop-down list, and add the correct gaming port and rcon pass as well as IP, and setup is automatic. If you still need assistance, feel free to jump on our IRC channel for real-time help. Hopefully this will help get ya up and running. :) IRC tab at the top opens a java-applet IRC chat so that you don't need a client. -
Make sure in the compatibility mode box, at the bottom, that you put a checkmark in the "run as administrator" box. Odd annomoly, and unless someone else here has had it themselves and knows of a fix, it's unlikely that we're going to be of much help, other than tossing out suggestions to try. If you do come up with a fix please come back here and post and let us know what it was.

Streaming Causes Our Server to Crash
RoadWarrior replied to Ryan4Katie2005's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
// Log Settings set g_logsync "2" // 0=no log, 1=buffered, 2=continuous, 3=append set logfile "1" // 0 = NO log, 1 = log file enabled set g_log "games_mp.log" // Name of log file, default is games_mp.log set sv_log_damage "1" // Add that to your server configuration file. Then the logfile will log server errors and you can perhaps pinpoint the source of your crashing a little easier. -
Why would we not allow good wishes? ;) Happy New Year back at ya, and to all who frequent pbbans.com May 2009 bring less hacking, and more fun to our games. :P (good luck with that last bit..... )

Your players would need to be using the older version as well. Not a recommended idea, though. No Quarter Wiki A quote from the mentioned Wiki. Most Important Note: Currently NQ 1.2.3 ist not supported by punkbuster which will hopefully fixed soon. Disable it for now otherwise windows user (only!) get kicked by Corrupted File/Memory [124008] error. We know this occures since last punkbuster update and all mods under development have this issue. We have created a trouble ticket at evenabalance, please do not spam their ticket system. I personally wouldn't recommend disabling pb, but rather, revert back to an older, tried and tested version of no quarter, or what-ever mod it is you're using. I currently run nq version 1.1.1 and etpro 3.2.6 on my clan's servers with no such issue. Haven't run etpub in a while, but the mid 6. versions seemed to work pretty good.
